The point is they are synthesizers that can be sampled, they are not toys. And korg is the only manufacturer to make synths affordable. Run one of these through a minikp2 and you will see just what amazing sounds you can make.

That was exactly what I was thinking of doing. I just ordered a Stylophone BEAT mini drum machine and now I'm thinking about a mini synth, and wondered how it would all sound through my miniKP.

Delay for sure. Run it through some nice reverb and you'll be in ambient drone heaven.

@@bobbymobetta Are you the kid that received dude-man's monotron?
@hpl13812 жыл бұрын
I've had 3 record releases that used them in one form or another, as secondary instruments. You have every right to your opinion, but I disagree. Most people use them as toys, but you can do a lot with a monotron if you practice with them and learn how to handle them well. Not picking on you in particular, but I really think a lot of electronic musicians are spoiled. Anything you have to work learn, or doesn't have midi (monotribe) is dismissed as toys because it won't do the work for you..

I have two important questions!! 1. What is this wire plugged in those synths, is this just for soud capturing, speakers, can it sound without them? And 2. If u have tried stylephone gen x1 is it overall better or worse than thiz?
@shonjones72314 жыл бұрын
That's just for sound. I would recommend the stylophone over the duo.
@daviddinsmore3283 жыл бұрын
@@shonjones7231 Agreed! The Stylophone GenX1 has a lot of potential for actually "playing" the instrument, as opposed to using it as an effect. (I LOVE ALL THINGS STYLOPHONE"

If you have the first Monotron and the Delay, I fail to see the point in Duo. But with these "toys" you can actually get any sound sample you want. I got some pretty mild electroviolin samples from the Delay... noise-making, you say?

They are toys for mainly two reasons: Firstly, they have really poor signal to noise ratio, which means they'll make your mixes sound really noisy. Secondly, they don't have MIDI or CV which means you can't program any patterns on them. They are fun to play around with, nonetheless. You could see them as "executive toys" but for musicians/music producers.
