Thanks Luke, great vids, very helpful. Could you please let me know what type of USB host you use, as I have a keyboard that I could use. Many thanks. PJ.

The fatal flaw of the Korg Volca is the knob that shakes when touched, which can be felt even when watching the video. The Roland compact series does not have that and is solid. And even if you connect it in a chain, you only need one audio out, no need for a mixer. I hope Korg also quickly adopts USB C charging, MIDI, and a built-in battery.

You can use rechargeable AA batteries though. I prefer keeping it separately like that. I get the convenience factor of plugging the unit in to charge though as well.

Also, interestingly I avoided buying because of this shaky knob... but mine is actually pretty sturdy. The one thing I did notice is this is the only Volca I've had to have a bit of a rough edge where the top plate meets the body... I wonder if it's just the Bass overall that's like this, or specific to the production run mine was made in. (I also just got Keys and Modular, their cases are smooth all around just like all the rest of the Volcas I have.)
