Heel lock straps busted on my terror ridge boots. I just cut the straps and lace em up like normal boots. One of the eyelts has come out and the laces have started to get cut up. That being said i did about 30-40 days of hard wading in them. I like them. They fit snug like you said. I like the kling on studded soles they came with. I got the carbide spikes and havent used them yet. I like how light the boots are

Had the same problem with my terror ridge the heel lock strap broke on mine I contacted them and I payed the difference for a pair of river op model. Contact korkers on Instagram and take a pic of the boot where it's damaged and take a pic of the model name on the inside tongue they will replace them at no charge.

I've had the same issue with my Dark Horses, the BOA system loosens over time. I carry around a replacement in my pack but am really not looking forward to the day when I have to install it on the stream. I've loved the convenience of the BOA but you're dead right, it can't be tightened down as well as laces. I've even developed my own ritual of half tightening, tugging on the lower cable to take up slack, and tightening again, but they're just not as tight as laced boots. Will definitely be looking at the Terror Ridge or comparable model for my next boots. I've had good results with my carbide stud Omnitrax soles, just need to tighten them up before heading out. Haven't lost one yet.

I actually recently saw the carbide spikes for the Triple Threat soles. How do they wear? I think I'm going to give them a try.

@@Brownsylvania I have fished them hard this season, and still holding up well. They rust a little, but nothing a bit of WD-40 won't fix. I carry around a socket driver to tighten them up before every outing. They are great for bigger freestoners, they really grip slippy rocks well. Sometimes nearly too well - they're a bit heavy so you're not as nimble, but if you move slow and deliberately I think you'll have excellent traction.

Awesome! Thanks for the input man. I'll let you know how I like them in a future video.

I'll never buy a boot with the boa system again it constantly loosens and finally the wire broke and then your shit out of luck for the rest of the days fishing. If laces snap you tie a knot in the lace and your back in the game.

Snapped my boa cable yesterday mid day on the water. Switching to regular laces now.

Hi Chuck. On my second pair of the Terror Ridge boots. First pair was replaced after eyelets on the right boot pulled out.Nick @ Korkers was great and told me to destroy the boots by cutting out the toungues. That done when the new boots came in the very first time out the next to last speed lace clip broke while pulling them snug, still useable but come on Korkers! customer service is top notch,but quality control is lacking.Sorry for the longwinded comment, Rich.

I've actually had a similar experience. After doing this review the boots seemed to go down hill from there and fell apart quick. I had one of the lace clips break too. I honestly just think it's this model of boots. I ordered the new River Ops boots. They seem a lot better constructed.

I love my Darkhorse boots, I've not had any problems with the BOA system. I find them really helpful in winter, especially at the end of the day, when my hands are too cold the boa is super easy to release.

Yeah they are great boots for sure and definitely convenient. I just wasn't impressed with the durability of the cables.

Yup so is the nature of aluminum. Grip Studs for me but I guess you will not be able to use them on Korkers unless you screw the soles into the boot.
@Brownsylvania4 жыл бұрын
The studs can be put in the bottoms of the Korkers soles, but I just haven't found ones I like. What do you use?

I'll check them out. I'm probably gonna give the carbide spikes a try that can also be put in the Triple Threat soles. I didn't know they had these until recently.

How are these boots for hiking?
@SamuelPulis3 жыл бұрын
Boa systems all suck IMO, especially in saltwater. The wire will eventually break, the coating wears away and the wire will rust, fray and eventually snap. If you fish on the beach the dials will end up with sand in them and they'll start to require extra force to open or close leaning to failures.

What about sizing? Size up from your sneakers size?

Yup! I wear size 11 shoes so I wear these boots in size 12 and they fit perfectly.
