Bit he covers cleaning the area for a new ring seal that goes under the flapper. You can replace the flapper all day but it wont work if the seal isnt new and or very clean. Replace the seal ring under the flapper!

Harbor Freight sells a nice little water pump powered by 2 D-cell batteries that will get almost all of that water out! I have several. I use one to pump diesel fuel into my tractor from 5 gallon containers because I am old! ;)

I did the replacement just now and it seems to be working well.. This is like the 4th flapper I've put on in the last year. Various brands too. I just assumed that the standpipe shape didn't match the rounded part of the flapper, so how do you know they will seal properly? This kit eliminates that issue. Anyway,,, thanks for posting this video.

Turn your water off first, then let your tank leak in your bowl as low as it will. Mine only leaked half way down, the riser tube was also leaking, thank goodness for Duct Tape. Thanks for watching.

Me too. It took me hours to get that in. Tight space. Couldn’t find regular pliers. Then it had an extra plastic bolt l didn’t know was there. I’m like why do their flow valves life right up and mine doesn’t. Broke it in 2 places to get it out. 😂 I’m thinking why do they make it look so easy. I asked the lady at Lowe’s if they had a rent a man. She had no sense of humor 😂

make sure the gasket is the right size and not for a different Korky flapper diameter...

Did not help at all. Cleaned tank with 0000 steel wool, dried, installed and dried 1 hour. Leaked just as before.

Check your riser pipe, mine had a small crack. Fixed with duct tape.

@jeffpattersonmadcityvideos3413 it leaks into the bowl constaly but slowly for 1 minute, then a large refill of tank. Very consistant time for leak and refill. Not leaking outside of tank at all

@jeffpattersonmadcityvideos3413 it was not overflowing but close to the top. I have lowered water level adjustment and reduced flow rate at fill valve. Has helped. Thank you
