This was the FIRST KoRn music video and single from their 1994 debut album... it was a unique record w/ a new sound- a mix of 90's hip hop grooves and heavy grunge rock that would be termed 'nu-metal' by the late 90's. It was also a dark record that was lyrically filled w/ depiction of childhood abuse, adolescent rage and loss of innocence. It took a year or so for the album to finally sell gold (half million copies) in the US after 3 MTV singles - 'Blind'... 'Clown'... and 'Shoots & ladders'... Lead singer Jonathan Davis ended the album w/ the disturbing track 'Daddy' which he wrote about a family friend who sexually abused him as a child, and his parents refused to believe him. When recording the vocals, Davis broke down in anguish and started screaming hysterically at his abuser - that was left in the final recording that made the album. KoRn came together in Bakersfield, California in the early 90's when Nirvana and Pearl Jam had become huge... Guitarists Brian 'Head' Welch and James 'Munky' Shaffer, drummer David Silveria, and bassist Reggie 'Fieldy' Arvizu got together w/ vocalist Jonathan Davis and took the name KoRn referring to a Stephen King novel 'Children of the Corn' about a town's children killing all the adults... They were discovered by producer Ross Robinson who produced their first 2 albums after they were signed in '94 by Immortal Records. 2nd album 'Life is Peachy' (1996) sold gold faster than the debut album, but it was a darker... more hardcore album w/ only 1 major single - 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' ... but KoRn were a huge draw on tour. It was the 3rd album 'Follow the Leader' in 1998 that went to #1 on the US charts and exploded in commercial popularity w/ more energetic songs - 'Got the life' ... 'Freak on a leash'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥were the big singles and sold 5x platinum and pushed the first 2 records to 2x platinum in sales... KoRn was headlining tours and were a triumph at the Woodstock '99 festival where they shared the stage that night w/ Bush and The Offspring... 4th album 'Issues' in 1999 was also a #1 hit, released w/ 4 different album covers and sold 3x platinum. Unfortunately, drug and alcohol abuse was affecting the members of KoRn, but they kept going... their album 'Untouchables' charted at #2 in 2002 and sold platinum, followed by the heavy & dark 'Take a look in the mirror' in 2003 that also went platinum. The band marked the end of the original line-up in 2004 w/ a 'Greatest hits' album w/ covers of Cameo's 'Word up' and Pink Floyd's 'Another brick in the wall'... Guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch quit the band that year, but KoRn refused to replace him. They opted to use session guitarists for shows. Signing w/ a new label, KoRn released 'See you on the other side' in 2005 w/ outside songwriters being used without Head's songwriting talent... Drummer David Silveria quit in 2007 just before KoRn performed on MTV 'Unplugged' and completed the 'Untitled' album as a trio w/ session drummers, the album being their most pop-oriented record... Ray Luzier (drums) did the tour and joined KoRn full time by 2009. KoRn released 'Remember who you are' in '09 w/ a return to heavy rock... Then, they collaborated w/ 'dubstep' artists on the 2011 album 'The path of totality'... On the tour, KoRn performed w/ Head on guitar one night and talked about him rejoining the band... Head had embraced Christianity and was raising his daughter as a single father; he decided that KoRn had become a better situation for him to return to. KoRn released 'The Paradigm shift' in 2013, which marked the return of guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch and the band's declining popularity began to reverse and the next album 'The Serenity of suffering' in 2016 went to #4 on the US charts and #9 in the UK. In 2018, tragedy struck Jonathan Davis when his estranged wife Deven, mother of his 2 kids, died from an OD after years of addiction... Jonathan Davis wrote KoRn's 2019 album 'The Nothing' from his grief... KoRn's latest album 'Requiem' was released in 2022 after the covid-19 pandemic and charted #14 in the US, #8 in the UK.

I saw Korn live when Life Is Peachy released in an indoor arena with seats surrounding an open area in front of the stage in Charlotte, North Carolina. There wasn't many people in front of the stage and the seats were loaded. When Korn came on all the people in the seats bum rushed the open area. I being 15 years old was forced in the sea of people to go with or be trampled. It was the craziest, scariest and coolest thing that happened to me up to that point in life. Oh and the the show was AWESOME!

I'm not as big into them now, but this pretty much inspired me to become a musician. I saw an abridged version of this video on Beavis and Butthead when I was maybe 11 back in 1995. I never really paid any attention to metal of any sort before, and this sent me down the rabbit hole. I picked up bass a few years later and have been playing ever since. It's pretty great seeing people find the song that got me into heavier music for the first time :) EDIT: Yeah, the singer Jonathan Davis plays bagpipes. And Korn is "nu-metal" which was really big from the mid 90's to the mid 2000's. Weirdly, Korn does a fantastic cover of all 3 parts of "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd, with the guitarist nailing the solo and emulating Dave Gilmour's tone wonderfully.

Hi, I hope you're well. I recently discovered your channel. Im glad you like Korn, they're definitely a favourite of mine too. My favourite bands are Pantera, Faith No More, Lacuna Coil, Ghost, Korn and Fear Factory. I'd like to see you react to some of their songs in the future, please. Take Care.

Millie, so glad you discovered and enjoy Korn. In order to add variety but also because you like Korns base. You should try listening to "Godsmack - Whatever". II really think you'll like it also.
