Religion on a personal level is not a bad thing, in fact it can be extremely helpful to people especially in tough times. When it is turned into an institution and people start using the concept of faith to inhibit or harm others, that's when religion is bad. I was raised a Southern Baptist and I'm devout. Evolution is real, I am pro-marriage equality, and I don't force my beliefs on others. I go to church only when I feel the need to be near those share my beliefs. Religion isn't bad by itself.
