The original was in my opinion pretty bad . it was so over produced and electronic. It has powerful lyrics. That need to bed able to shine that is why acoustic really works for these kinds of songs. You can see further proof of this with the song "hurt" originally by nine inch nails (NIN) however most people belive that the Johnny cash cover is the original because cash really elevated the song by letting the lyrics take Center Stage. On the other had you can go to far with stripping down a song when the lyrics and not quite strong enough. Two good examples of this being song of silence which was given new life with Disturbed's cover and I will always love you. As covered by Whitney Houston both added more power to the song in a way which really pushed it to new heights

She lay her soul in her singing and touch me deep in my soul. There are other artists they sing nearly her, but they don`t touch me deep as Violet, because they don`t have the key she have. And this is the reason why it isn`t possible to say, this or this is the best singer. It`s only possible to say: "This is a real artist" or "This isn`t a real artist" and "This artist touch me deep" or "This artist don`t touch me deep" Violet is a Real Artist!
