Honestly, Korn never really lost their riff style. I think if you just made every album the same production as their first album, they would pretty much sound the same.

People say that but they've sounded like the same watered-down heavy metal band for the past 20 years. The same predictable choruses, same tone, same overplayed drumming from Ray. They had the original sound for the shortest amount of time.

Still can't beat that intro riff to Fake imo, and intro to lies and ball tongue are really sick too. Wish you'd feature the riff fairly early on from Clown too. Think it's pretty dope. But it's the tone and thickness (distortion/down tuning or both) on that opening Fake riff I can't get enough of. Always reminds me of an angry swarm of bees. Also, helmet in the Bush has an awesome riff and is one of thier hidden gems out thier entire catolgue....Like Wake Up and Dirty from issues and Justin, Seed and Dead Bodies from FTL. Also Insane, Cold and Black Is the Soul out thier later stuff. Idiosyncrasy is different for them in a really good way.

The simplicity definitely stood out to me while learning them. And the style is pretty similar between the two but I think the newer ones are just a little more interesting. It makes you think about how complicated isn't always better!

Sorry to talk drums here. Whilst Ray certainly is an exceptional drummer, I maintain David had a better groove and sound. David’s less is more approach suits the music better. David’s drumming sounds more powerful.

A standard is dropped one whole step down from B, which is standard on 7 strings. So, yes , it is downtuned.

Actually this is great idea, but there is one big mistake and that mistake is tuning, because in the first album Korn using standart B tuning and in the last album they are using standart A tuning. They not using any drop in that two albums... Please try to remember it and in next similiar video on the same band use standart tuning. ;). Now I have some last words for people who using drop: PLEASE STOP pushing drop in every fucking great bands guys like Sepultura, Soufly, Korn, Crowbar, Pantera (for example new level, or walk). Thank you :-)....
