@@Probably_Behind_You_Now No, it's an adaptation of a novel by Stephen King about a mentally handicapped man on death row with magic powers. Like most Stephen King stories, it's a lot better than it sounds. What's weird is that a lot of the Green Miles story and themes is tied up in the American justice system and race politics in the early 1930's. It's kind of surprising that Korone understands and appreciates the story as well as she does.

Back to the Future was one of my favorite movies. Didn't really understand what was going on as a kid but it was entertaining and interesting. I mostly remember the first movie though, watched that one alot, but not so much the other ones. Unless I'm not remembering correctly.

the second movie wasn't really for kids, frankly it wasn't that great of a movie, though i saw it recently and i think there was a good idea behind it. The third movie was objectively better than the 2nd one though; on a concept level it played it a lot safer then the second movie, it still was just generally more entertaining.

Seen "Star Wars" for the first time during "May the 4th be With You" and yeah, it's as great as everyone says it is. Although, I really don't get why Boba Fett is so beloved. He's as mid as Shadow the Hedgehog. Still haven't seen Indiana Jones tho.

I remember Gura proudly saying that she had never seen a Star Wars movie and pretended to know basically nothing about it other than lightsabers. It was so inconceivable to me that I began to think maybe she really was raised underwater and had no access to human movies. People are allowed to not like it, but everyone that hasn't lived their whole lives in a cage in some underground laboratory has absorbed most of Star Wars through cultural osmosis by the time they are an adult.

The best ones are the ones they know inside-out, where they can point out little details nobody else would notice on the first viewing. Her _Jurassic Park_ screening remains one of the best things she's ever done because of all the insights she's able to bring up from her years of love and appreciation.

I saw the "Back to the Future" trilogy for the very first time about... 2 years ago on AMC? Before then, I was mostly familiar with the video games - with the *_only_* good one being "Super Back to the Future 2" on SNES - thanks to the AVGN. I was immediately hooked after seeing Part 1. Everything from the charming cast of characters, to the phenomenal soundtrack make them some of the best movies I've ever seen.

I believe Robert Zemeckis, together with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, signed a legal clause that forbids anyone to remake the movies until their deaths. I hope it gets honored even after they’re gone. The BttF franchise is very much a product of its time (no pun intended). Remaking it in a modern setting would destroy the artistic integrity. Nobody would be able to replace Marty McFly anyway.

I have the same opinion about Restaurant To Another World ( 異世界食堂 ) because it's just so darn heartwarming! It's like the parts of Food Wars where everyone first tastes a delicious food and is all amazed and happy, but without all the nudity and silly story plot. I get if you aren't interested in One Piece, it's a very long series. But go watch Restaurant To Another World ( 異世界食堂 ) it's just SO GOOD!! Like comfort food for your soul ~

Plus very few people are going to watch every single movie that "everyone should watch", and even if they plan to they're unlikely to have already done it by the age of, say, 20. @@NoriMori1992 Oh no, my assumption was that many, at a young age, might only care about movies of now and the future. But I'm generalizing and I shouldn't. I also don't think one should should see every movie, even if only the essential ones. Tastes matter and "essential" is terribly subjective, for one, and frankly, not every "essential" movie has aged well. So, ultimately, all I'm saying/hoping, is that most will, at some point, look to movies from before their time so they get to see cool stuff that's still relevant. And very biasedly, recommending BttF :3

Korone is what we call a westaboo. Her taste is very close to mine, her favorite stuff is 90s movies which is widely considered the golden era of movies. Back then movies weren't trying to push the woke religion. That's why characters and stories were so great and why today everything feels hollow and without a soul. I'm certain she hates all the new western movies coming out today. Most of us do too.
