Takane Lui, the executive officer (XO) of Secret Society holoX, is quite the hawk, with her sharp eyes and insights. She's pretty skilled in the language department - when she was in school, she learned Thai so that she could better communicate with her Thai friend, and her English is quite decent as well. In addition to gaming and singing streams, she does lunchtime chat streams here and there, and she's personally a big fan of the Ace Attorney series, having also gotten other holos like Botan to play it.

Your Honor, I'd like to update the Court Record with these notes! 0:23 - Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan is a 1981 tokusatsu show that I don't know anything about. My best guess is that Korone means the 3 men in the courtroom (the judge, Payne, and Phoenix) are kinda like how the Solar Sentai is 3 guys? If any toku fans have a better idea, please leave a comment! 1:48 - As there are differences in the case details between the Japanese and English versions of Ace Attorney, I opted to go for the Japanese version's details, since it lines up with what Lui and Korone were voice acting. In the English version, Sahwit claims that he remembers it was 1:00 PM. 1:58 - Likewise, in the Japanese version of the game, the victim came back home to Japan from New York; in the English version of the game, she came back home to Los Angeles from Paris. 4:49 - The wording here is modified from the official English Ace Attorney dialogue to better line up with Lui and Korone's reactions. I really enjoyed watching this stream live - Korone and Lui kept going for nearly 12 hours, and they finished the first three chapters of the first Ace Attorney (The First Turnabout, Turnabout Sisters, and Turnabout Samurai). - Noodlebrain

man this makes me want a direct translation mod for the game. i like the localization but after justice for all you can't escape the clear japanese areas no matter how many times you call it Japanifornia lol

I know Sun Vulcan by proxy of being parodied in Tentai Senshi Sunred, and I always wondered how much of a deep cut it actually is in Japan. I remain ignorant though, since it was Korone making refrences to it. That proves nothing. Also Ace Attorney's goofy foreign countries are only not cringe because the main premise is goofy too. In Marvel Doctor Doom living in Lithuania or where ever and Niger having space aluminum monopoly, is the dumbest thing ever. Thanks to Japanifornia we can assume it's like a Full Metal Panic thing where world history is slightly different.

its because Sun Vulcan is Red Blue and yellow, which is what Sahwit/criminal, Wright, and Payne wore in court, i guess plus the attorney badge does look like the Sun Vulcan logo

0:29 I think she's saying なんで分かんだよ i.e. "why do you know that" (not "why don't you know that") 2:13 I think this is more complaining that he's disrespecting attorneys (of which Phoenix is one), rather than disrespecting Phoenix by doubting whether he is an attorney - だって弁護士（を）、こいつ（が）舐め腐ってる - though that doesn't really fit with her decision to show the court her badge, lol

Lmao the JP version Mia says something like "nice tsukkomi". Now I'm tempted to see if there's a comparison of the EN translation vs direct translation somewhere; given all the wordplay and such in the game it'd be interesting to see how they handled that.

The English dialogue is more a localization to an American context vs the original Japanese context of the game. So any jokes/cultural accents were just simply swapped to something equivalent in an American context.

They write blogs on this openly, you could probably for real get a campaign going for Capcom to release those files as a book, it's good merch. legendsoflocalization has a few AA articles and they DO have a book on Zelda out.

You can find the scripts of both versions if you search for court-records dual japanese/english, but it would be up to you to translate the Japanese or paste it into a translator.
