The most brutal part of the fight was when Storm killed Korra in the Avatar state. Which means, the Avatar cycle had ended and Raava is dead.

I love that this whole thing started because Korra destroyed an iceberg.😂 This was a pretty intense fight, actually. The choreography was incredible too. Definitely one of my favorites. And it's another reason why Storm will always be my favorite X-man.

@@Keith_Norman Looking it over she gets about 4 hits in and spends the rest of the time trying not to die. Storm doesn't get that many hits in, because the animation makes sure to show how massive the divide in outright power is when Storm actually tries.

The very reson why Storm stomps Korra in this fight is not just because Storm is significantly more powerful, but also because she excels at long range combat and has the means to effectively and consistently force Korra into such a situation where she has the advantage. While Korra has superiority in melee combat, and can potentially defeat Storm if she she can reliably get her into a more confined area and keep her there, Storm has enough expertise in that to at least keep up just in case Korra got close enough, which is pretty unlikely to happen since Storm's superior speed and attack power make her suitable for hit and run tactics to kite Korra similar to a horse archer Parthian shooting a master martial artist, rendering any advantage Korra has useless.

While far from one of the standouts of Season 8, this is still a pretty well done fight. The visuals look stunning, the characterization (for the most part) is done well, and the track is one of the most underrated instrumental tracks in the show. Though it isn’t without its problems. Such as how, to make it seem like Korra stands even the slightest chance, they make Storm only hit her three times or how from what I’ve heard, Korra acts more like her season 1 throughout the fight. Though aside from those complaints, this battle is still a pretty solid entry from one of the best seasons of the show.
