Owned most popular open-back headphones up to around 200-300 dollars. I sold everything and now only use Porta Pro's and KPH30i's. The value is massive, no need to spend any more money. I don't even think the audio quality is better on the more expensive pairs, it's more whatever sound signature you prefer. That is saying a lot for such a cheap pair of headphones.

Depends on what you game. Playing on Series S with Windows Sonic option on turns these to an amazing gaming headphones. Still decent even without that option in my opinion.

I'm really looking forward to your review on Beyerdynamics MMX 300 2nd gen gaming headset in near future.(especially, if you can let us know differences when comparing those to DT 770 Pro or even DT 1770 Pro as well.) You are the most trusted gaming headset(and headphone) reviewer on youtube for me. I don't know if i got a fake pair many years ago, but I found the newer KPH-30i to sound a little smoother. I think they may use the same driver. more comfortable too.

Your channel is great, terribly underrated! There are much worse reviewers with much more followers. That’s a shame. As regards Koss, try the UR40. Looks like a toy headphones, but it’s awesome. Uses the driver of KSC75 but in an open back headphones style. Cheaper than the Porta Pro, and it’s really great.

I own several really high end headphones and these are my go to on so many occasions...they sound so good and are super light and can run them off almost anything ... Just buy some yaxi pads and your good to go

I've owned a pair of the porta pros since 1989. 2 years ago I threw them in the bin after I had a listen, they just sounded terrible. Recently I bought a brand new pair which I assume it's the same set you've got . Surprisingly I was just delighted by the sound punchy bass good mid range and surprisingly sparkling high frequency admittedly I'm using a DAC on my LG phone obviously the dac gives it a more spatial and sound separation to the music. I too have a set of Sony professional monitor headphones and Sennheiser hd600 Sennheiser kph and a Bose SoundLink to me the portapros sound just as good as the Sennheiser hd600 with obviously better base response

@@zeus-fc9mb Assuming you can EQ or use a passive filter, the DT 1990 can be found for that is absolutely outstanding. If you can't EQ and do not want a PF, the Shure 1840 is a fantastic alternative. The closed 177X Go is also up there....The Tygr 300R is a super affordable option too. The 880 premium model is another affordable option. There are just so many variables - open? Closed? Tight or loose clamp? Coiled or straight cable? Powering them with an amp or a controller? And then budget... Answer all those questions and it usually narrows it down to 1 or 2 of them.

Hi, I am a mobile pubg player. Currently I am using IEM and I don’t like it. I think I am gonna get drop pc38x but some people say it's very hard to differentiate enemy position. Sounds come from every direction but soundstage is okay. Any recommendations will help. I am using ipad pro 2020 11" Comfort is my first priority as I play games around 8 hours a day.

I think the impedance of this Koss are 67 . I can't believe that this can work good with portable phones or a computer.

i got mine today and honestly im pretty disappointed with the sound, it is loud but plays outloud as well, idk why i thought it wouldnt xD it makes sense it would with those kind of earpads i still like it though

The idea is to test product to see if it is good for gaming. I'm not going to shill everything I test and tell you it's great when it's not. I don't know prior to testing how it will perform.

Reviews like this one are exactly what should be on this channel. The Porta Pros are recommended often for gaming, yet no one else seems to be talking about these in a competitive setting where they're apparently extremely lacking. Now people know why not to buy this.

@@Condred Well, that's one way to look at it. I see it as an unrelated waste of time. I want to spend time watching what's the best, not what's a waste of time. My buddy loves his Koss, but he's a cheapskate :)
