Hello Mr Johann Rocholl You are the developer of Kossel and Rostock 3D printers. I am blessed with that benefit. Thank you

No fan or heatbed and still a quality print? Impressive. Im designing my own kossel mini reprap and I always enjoy the Tri-frame models like this one.

Do you have any tips for carrying on the printer on the plane? I plan on taking my small delta 3D printer like this and want to make sure TSA won't give me problems.

Kossel Air (formerly known as IATA Kossel) is the little brother of Mini Kossel. It is designed to fit in overhead hand luggage bins for air travel, and has successfully traveled between Seattle and New York. In this video it's printing a Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb Cradle by pixil3d: www.thingiverse.com/thing:89762

How do you solved the oozing-Problem with this printhead? shorter filament tube? higher/lower temperature? more filament retraction than 5 mm? a tip would be nice... ;-)

***** Marlin's Configuration.h says #define DEFAULT_RETRACT_ACCELERATION 3000 mm/s^2 which means we spend 0.0333s accelerating to 100 mm/s. Probably we should double or triple the acceleration setting.

did the probe imprpve quality much? I have pretty much the same setup, but don't use the probe. never had an issue with first layer, but I'm eondering of it's worth investing the time into getting the probe going?

Yes, its an open source design in yes they are indirectly for sale. The BOM is available online as are the printed parts and other parts trick is there is no one stop 'kit' available.

Looks great, Johann. Are you going to release or give pointers to the new parts that aren't on the github repo, including the gt2 belt clips and glass clips? Also, is this 210/550? I found mine, at 210/500, would almost fit into carryon luggage, but the cutout for the handle would get in the way. A slightly larger carryon would probably be large enough. The power supply fits, but is super tight. Thanks!

IDK if this is out of place, but my x-axis seems reversed. The motor setting is correct, but when I command the printer to move 30mm to the right, it goes to the left. I had to reprogram the deploy/retract coordinates to make it work at all.

next time instead of firmware changes simply flip the connection between the motor and the board.

Richard Fox Unmannedair Thanks for the replies; I had since forgotten about this comment. I ended up flashing the original firmware, swapping the motor connections until everyhing ran as it should. Since then I made some changes on the firmware, such as a longer watchdog timeout (the printer froze and turned off its fan when a stroke took more than four seconds), and also removed the jumpback to the main screen in the menu (the printer freezes for a fraction of a second when the GLCD display is updated, which leaves marks on the printed object).

@yurrry
@yurrry 10 жыл бұрын
3D printers are worse than I thought. Time to do something about it!
