It never ceases to amaze me how much depth KOTA can pack into two minutes or less. Pure poetry.

Man's shaped my life. I make music now. I get paid to be an audio engineer. All because of people like kota that told me to be strong and believe in myself. I dont know how to thank you KOTA, but I will.

Real friends are supposed to believe in you when no one else does and to celebrate you when you make it. Without expecting anything in return. Let your friends’ wins inspire you to create your greatness instead of thinking they owe you a handout ❤

Powerful! Crazy how you get Love as long as you are "on your way to sucess" but once you get it, the Love turns into resentment. A reminder of the dreams they never chased.

Dads are complicated. Imagine creating your eternal replacement. You would need to put your ego aside. That's hard for a king. But a prince will always become a king. And Kota is a friend.

Bruh....theres so much nuance to this I gotta comment what's on my mind. This song sounds like a homie opening up to me about how a past friend did him dirty...and there's the deep pain and anger when you finally realise y'all really aren't apart of each others lives anymore. The sense of not only no longer growing together but abandonment. People only take romantic breakups serious, but platonic friendships that feel so deep they might as well be your sibling hurt just as bad. Because of that I'd allow my friend to petty. And lash out when he's confiding in me.....BUT When you hear how he's lashing out and the toxic azz sh*t he's saying at the peak of anger and frustration... this is really where I'd step in as a friend and point that shit out to him. Sometimes people don't even realise what they're saying and need someone outside of themselves to be the mirror for them to reflect. It's okay to let go. They don't wanna grow with you anymore? That's them. Being left behind hurts, but all you can do is follow your own and hope for the best. I could also be completely be missing the mark tho. This is just what this felt like to me on the first few listens. Edit: upon some more reflecting....sometimes things end....and they end because WE were in the wrong. Because we were toxic. We were a villain in their story. And THAT'S OKAY. As long as you know and understand it was you and choose to be better. We are not perfect beings, mistakes are made everyday, every hour, every second. It's on you if you choose to make the same one over, and over, then it's your fault people don't stick around. I need MOREE MUSIC LIKE THIS DAMN. I'm getting tired of boring narratives.
