Anybody else remember de_jeepathon2k? My buddies and I used to have tons of fun racing around the map, jumping over crazy gaps with a jeep and shooting hordes of angry bots while we were at it! Good times!

Playing on the 1.6 maps as Nipper was testing them was a lot of fun. Discovering the areas with other players for the first time was mind blowing.

Really enjoy seeing all those classic CS1.6 and CS Source maps where having fun was a priority instead of making every single map in existence competitive viable. The mindset of today's playerbase has drastically changed. I don't know whether it was for the better or for the worse.

I remember when the server I used to play css on loaded the map xmas_nipperhouse and an other bunch of other christmas maps such as xmas_dust2... xmas_nipperhouse was my favorite and I asked the admins so often to load it but they said it was only for christmas period. Holy shit, those were so good times. There was a real special feeling playing this game during christmas time. Everyone was in the mood and I found it beautiful !

Nothing will ever recreate the amount of fun and creative maps cs1.6, cscz and css had in their prime. Even csgo had some fun maps in its early life but ended up dying extremely quick. I would do anything to have these kind of maps/communities again, except everyone is too busy trying to be the next cs prodigy for some odd reason. Oh well, atleast I’m glad I was able to experience all of this!

Man I loved Nipper maps, there was one map called just "wall" made by nipper aswell, I played that map alot with bots as a kid, at that time I didn't know there was a server browser and I thought these bots I was playing with are Real people, and that for a whole year until my big brother told me about the server browser and joining servers

I loved playing all the Nipper maps on servers that were dedicated to them, it was great! From the wild shit like Blahh and to the Tank levels to the semi normal ones all were awesome

There's still a couple of good servers in cs source that play custom maps that are regularly filled. But yeah it sucks that it's all that's left

@@Gamer_Man_Bathwater Those servers are run by assholes who get no love from their S/O's and power trip non stop. Stopped playing source after the assholes that run the servers will have a field day insulting you, but if you crack a joke at them, they kick you.

i played on his 1.6 and CSNserver as a kid (rock's hideout 4), i still miss it sometimes. westwood was pistols (and shotguns?) only and that helped alot with the balance. btw i played his maps also on 1.5 but i was too small to comprehend they were custom maps

oh another thing, we would do map tests with Nathaniel himself. It was a lot of fun but sometimes the map just wouldnt work out or there'd be drama like with the blahhh secret room.

Miss these days in custom maps servers. Hope you all still remember [ABA] Deathstar Fun Maps (A Band Apart). We had one of the longest running 1.6 servers for fun maps from 2005 up until 2019 or 2020. Unfortunately the server and custom maps files got lost. We can only hold back tears and remember the nostalgic late nights staying up in the server chatting with your friends online over the in-game mic or on Ventrilo.

Anyone remember the duckhunt map? Where CTs would be launched through the air and sniped at by Ts who spawned in a building. Any CTs who safely landed then had to traverse an open field and charge at the Ts building armed only with knives.
