This team is moving in a positive direction , for the first time since before Mike Gillis sent it down the river with all or nothing management, and Jim Benning picked up the torch without even knowing how fire burns you! As long as ownership continues to put trust in Jim Rutherford and company, and STAYS THE HELL out of trying to manage the team themselves, then, there may be an actual COMPETITIVE future for The Canucks! Makes you kind of feel warm inside, doesn't it? Now, next training camp, hire Wayne Gretzky for one hour, and have him teach the team his mantra: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. (Could've helped a lot this playoffs too, but, as they say, hindsight is recognozing how they F'ed THAT UP! 😜)

In that mock trade, Hronek and Necas are comparable value, Kotkaniemi is a diminished asset at the moment with that cap hit but again comparing to Mikhayev I can see a swap of scenery for both and similar cap hits. Maybe a mid to low round pick has to be tossed in too but I wouldn’t be opposed to a deal like this

Loved the Necas discussion. I've seen people worried about his playoff production but look at his linemates. When he was playing with Martinook and Drury he had to do literally everything and his production dimished as a result. Meanwhile, when he got to play with Aho and Guentzel Necas was so much more dynamic with creative linemates. Corey Sznajder did a great breakdown of his game in the playoffs which is worth looking at. Anyways, Petey with Necas would be sick

watching live Martin Necas in the world championship semi finals against my Sweden.. score is 2-2 after 1st period, Necas has 2 assist, and he is NOT soft on the boards, and has great speed
