I mean, there’s probably going to be a solid portion of Sophie/Fitz content in the next book, seeing as they are cognates, and they are going to be looking for Keefe together, I’m guessing. It might be platonic, it might be slightly romantic, but i probably be there. There’s going to be Sophie/Keefe content as well, seeing as how he’s a main character, and his (bad) decisions impact everyone, but it’s likely going to be a lot of one-sided thinking, at least for most of the book. But I like Sophitz in all the forms, and I’m still clinging to the barest hint of a thread that it’ll become canon.

See here's the thing... I think Sophie will forgive Fitz (I mean, she already did). But she has already experienced a form of betrayal from him, and not the way she has with Keefe, but in a 'We-Dated-And-Broke-Up' way. She's also moved on from him, very adamantly so (I don't have the book with me, but she tells him she wants to be friends). So I feel like Shannon is trying to have Sophie actually move on from liking Fitz in a romantic way. Since she's already done that, it would feel very strange for Sophie to start liking him romantically again in the next book, since all that just happened. However, I really do think they'll be good friends (think of how Dex moved on from liking Sophie, and is a good friend now).
