I just wanna say… THANK YOU for being critical. it’s literally such a breath of fresh air. lots of KotLC fans accept literally anything (especially things Keefe-related) and blindly love a book without actually giving it any thought. I feel like lots of fans are too busy obsessing over Keefe, that in their minds he cancels out any imperfect parts. so… thank you.💗

Spoiler free: Unraveled was so unhinged, full of crazy twists and turns, BUT IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE! I’d give it a 4.5/5 stars! The pacing was great, the characters were HILARIOUS, and the references to the fanbase’s memes were GOLD (also, PANCAKES, if you know you know)

I'm so torn on Unraveled 😂. On one hand, I loved that we could see the world through someone else's eyes who'd never been there, and that it was totally Keefe's perspective. I laughed out loud quite a few times and did enjoy the plot twists (literally jaw on the floor for two of them). But on the other hand, I do agree that there wasn't a plot, or any real direction with the story. It did feel a little bland at some points, but I didn't hate that completely. I think I just gotta give this book a little more time to settle with me before I give an official review (I literally finished it on Tuesday lol). Happy to see your thoughts as well, it can probably help me finish my full review lol ❤️

But you’re absolutely right, the direction was lacking. There was definitely an overall direction but Shannon just never delivered any info about Ethan Benedict Wright or Stellarlune. 😭

I think that it was okay for the book to not have one certain direction. In Keefe’s situation, he doesn’t have one set goal throughout the entire book. His decisions and feelings change as he travels through the forbidden cities. I agree there were a few points where it was lagging, but if you get invested into Keefe’s emotional development then it distracts from that, and I don’t mind it

Unraveled was such a weird thing. I have rivaling opinions on it. On one hand, I loved it. Keefe's POV was so cool! It was very weird to see our world as something that is confusing. It was kind of funny. There were some really big plot twists, but I guessed a lot of them. I ADORED my everything and it was so sweet to see keefe's thoughts on Sophie. I also love the fact that Shannon did add some LGBTQ+ in there. I found that really cool especially since it was her first time (maybe there is hope for Marelinh!) Now let's talk about the plot. Oh wait we can't, there isn't one. Like you said this book had NO plotline whatsoever. It was everywhere. There was no climax, it was just kinda reading about Keefe live in the human world. I feel like as much as I love keefe's POV, this book really wasn't needed. I think she should've just done a little section in the back of book 9 or smth. Shanon definitely did not need to spend all that time to write this one so we have to wait at least another year for 10. It definitely reminded me of a fan fiction. Also Shanon Messenger should make the last book a alternate POV between Sophie and Keefe.

Hey, so I love your videos so much and I love you Troy so much!! I've been waiting to read Unraveled ever since after I took my college finals. But I will let you know my thoughts after. Also, I'm sorry, but I can't make the livestream, but I'll watch it later. My thoughts: I liked it but I didn't enjoy it more than the other books. I liked Keefe's POV and his adventures in the human world. I give it a 3.5/5.

I LOVE IT its so good. I had it read within the first 24 hours after the book was released. Its TOO good! It answered a lot of my questions, but also brought up a lot more questions about the seires. It was amazing to see how he sees everyone else, including himself. Very refreshing to hear from Keefe! Give it a read as soon as possible!

( for now ) idk how i feel abt this book tbh- like you said, there was really no plot line at ALL. but i do think some of the twists and turns were really fun to read, and see in keefes pov. while sometimes it was kinda dull, and i definitely think she could’ve added it in book 10 with maybe sophie looking at his memories and her just showing us the important parts, im kinda glad we got to see all of his trip. OKAY SPOILERS NOW TURN BACK NOW IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE BOOK! seeing what he could do with his ability’s really shocked me, but also didn’t. I think we all knew he could do something along the lines, but I think seeing his use the 2nd power, really helped us understand it better. I’m hoping avlar returns in book 10, because if he doesn’t then I don’t get why she’d bring him “back to life”. but I think this book was a 4/5 or 4.5/5

Ok so with us now knowing that Eleanor is alive and her saying that her father was alive but then died after he faked their deaths I feel like this will come back! Cuz aren’t you curious on WHY he destroyed all is his research… breaking everything he used along with it. Then later dying…. I think Gisela managed to kill him after finding out he destroyed all the research about Stellarlune. Like maybe he managed to find out what Stellarlune is (Elysian) which is a power source. Which the power source is said to be a “rock” right… and Wthan was an astrophysicist which is someone who studies celestial objects. Which is what we all thought Elysian is. So a part of me wants to think that Eleanor has like a USB to her father’s research somehow and it holds everything there is to know about Elysian. That the crew would need to find Eleanor for so they could use that info to take Elysian down or something like that. Also if they need to flee from the fight they can just go to Cass’ cabin and hide their to strategize which is when Keefe mentions that Eleanor is alive!? Lmk what you think! I could’ve misread or overthinked something…

‼️SPOILERS‼️ honestly one of the only things i remember from this book is the fact that he was known as keefe foster, and the taylor swift mention!!! both of those made me scream so loud!!!!! like obviously i remember what happened but those were the main points i got from it! all the sokeefe moments were awesome though!!!! especially the “THINK ABOUT FOSTER!!!” parts!!!

SPOILER ‼ So my thoughts-It was a good book and def had crucial info, plus keefes pov was fun and I actually ended up really liking alvar by the end which is crazy, but I don’t think I’d reread it. It’s a dif type of book for sure but the beginning kinda dragged and barring our bestie keefe, none of my other fav characters were there which made it a lil boring plus I’m not immersed in the world I love so much. I still think stellarlune couldve been double pov including keefe journey from that side. There's stuff from stellarlune that could be cut, theres stuff from unraveled that could be cut and with the correct editing i really believe stellravelled wouldve worked better. Plus we'd see both of them pine for each other. Sophie's desperation to find him plus keefes reaction that she stopped, chap 42 ofcourse. Plus everything after keefe is back would be more interesting cuz keefe knows about the rocks and whats going on.

Honestly, the books wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't one of my favorites. I can see why it was labeled as 'important stuff', but it mostly felt like tying up loose ends for Keefe. This would've been fine, but I feel like he was still really depressed and secluded when he came back to the Lost Cities in Stellerlune. I think you could totally skip this book and move on with the rest of the series and still be fine without the extra info. It was written in a fun, humorous style, that I didn't feel like fit the version of Keefe we saw in Stellerlune. The book was still good and I'd tell people to read w/ the series, but Neverseen will always be my favorite.

Yes! Neverseen is also my favorite! It feels like bonus material imo idk how necessary it is but we will see in book 10 maybe! I wonder how the stuff from unraveled will be important but I’m sure Shannon will do well with writing book 10 as she has been teasing it for so long 😂

Heyo! I agree with a lot of your points! I don’t think this was completely necessary and I definitely think the lack of plot is the reason. HOWEVER! It was an enjoyable read for me. Don’t get me wrong, it did feel pretty fanfictiony, but as someone who loves to see Keefe react to human stuff, this was just pure fan service. Also LOVED seeing how much Keefe just adores Sophie. Both in the bonus, and especially at the start. He’s so down bad it’s adorable. And I know what you mean with the twist! I already talked to you about some of my opinions so I won’t spoil too much! AND OMGS YES THE REP! I had to keep rereading! It made me so EMOTIONAL! It’s so important to be able to see yourself. It makes me so sad that some parents said they would stop buying these books even though their kids like it. Regardless of age, we are our own person, we are not copies of our parents. I feel bad for those who want rep and won’t have access. I wish the hate could just go away because there are so many problems in this world. Yet people choose to use their energy to hurt people who are just born a certain way, people who decided to not push down a natural part of themselves and live their truth. I’m so happy Shannon made the decision that she did! We need to normalize the fact that our world is filled with all kinds of people. The more we humanize, the more we can focus on live over hate! Thought I'd leave my thoughts before I watch the video, so bear with me here. This might be a hot take, but I found the book extremely boring. Not bad, just boring and unnecessary. Except for a few chapters here and there it felt like a fever dream - and none of the so-called revelations feel very big except the one near the end. I do not feel as though the series gained much from this book, I'm certainly glad it was so short. Anyway, those were my thoughts while reading it. Interested to see the perspective of someone who enjoyed it tho!

Unraveled was like lowkey kinda boring honestly... 60-70% of it was just Keefe yapping. There were some redeeming qualities though: ***HUGE GINORMOUS SPOILER ALERT*** My baby Alvar and his pancake obsession 💖💖 Also, (How is no one talking about this more?!) Eleanor! I have had the theory that she was still alive, and she would meet Keefe when he went to the Forbidden Cities since I read Unlocked. She's almost exactly how I imagined her personality being (A little more violent but I'm all here for that!) and I know this is hopeless but I ship her with Keefe!!! (And have for a while now) She matched his energy in a way Sophie never really does. And, hot take, my fictional brother deserves better than the self-absorbed little Moonlark. Sophie is mean and is never there for her friends when they most need her. She abandoned Dex after friend-zoning him in the worst way possible and never visited Biana when she was hurt even though Biana skipped class to come visit Sophie anytime she got hurt. And it's always about Sophie and her boyfriends. I honestly think that if Biana or someone were the Moonlark the Neverseen would be gone by now. Also, I know that Keefe and Eleanor are different species, but I have a theory that humans and elves are the same species (Long story). But whatever makes Keefie happy I guess. Anyways, getting off my ✨Soap Box✨ now :)
