Welcome back! Glad to see you back but was surprised to see you give this a 3/10 because bakudeku wasn't the endgame ship, didn't know you were rooting for them

Oh shit nice to see ur still around, if both bakugo and deku were cut from the work I'd give it like a 4 or 5 lmao. The first 100 chapters was probably like a 6/7 to me but the last 200 was like a 1/2

@@Zyhius Yeah, they had a pretty annoying dynamic. Wasn't a huge fan of them, was one of my biggest issues with the series. bkdk jokes aside, I'd be nowhere as harsh on the series, I still found it fairly enjoyable up until the Dark Deku arc. Horikoshi just really wanted to do a Batman arc there lmao, and the final arc I think basically everyone agrees was a disaster. I'd give it like a strong 5 light 6 personally. There's a decent amount of points here I'd agree with. The dialogue veers into corniness quite a bit, the villains are underwhelming (particularly Toga, she sucks), the actual fight choreography is below average though the art is pretty great otherwise (I did think something like Deku vs Gentle actually had lowkey nice fight scenes, and All Might vs All for One is the best fight scene for sure), the powers are often very basic in practice and lack creativity, and the romance is quite poor. But I still found myself enjoying a number of the arcs and fights before the Dark Deku arc, because during those times I thought generally the series was fairly well paced, there were a bunch of very entertaining side characters in the cast, and ultimately still felt there was a decent bit of heart behind it all. I don't agree with the Endeavor points, I thought he was one of the best characters in MHA and his character arc was one of the best written. At the beginning, he's really prideful and stoic publicly, trying to be the #1 hero, and behind the scenes is obviously abusive to his family. Once he actually gets to be the #1 after All Might burns out, he realizes that it feels more empty because he only got there since the guy ahead of him became weak now, and he starts reconsidering how he treated his family, which is especially emphasized with the family drama and how it impacts his relationships and ranking as a hero. The original end was really not that bad, I think it was overstated partially because of leaks. He got his chance at being the greatest hero during the final war arc and fought all for one and tomura, even if he didn't get his power back he would've still lived his dream. And Deku just said they didn't have much free time as adults, not that the characters didn't care at all, plus it was pretty obvious they did care when they pitched in to help get him his suit. The romance in the ending was badly handled, but as you said the romance was never really good to begin with, so that was fairly in line.

Initially I was thinking it was like closer to a 4 so not that far from you, but the more i reread it, it kinda just got worse to me. I felt like gentle had a lot of potential and I kinda forgot about mentioning that fight but it was decent, but I think there were a lot of other things in that arc that I didnt end up liking and gentle was a little underwhelming cause of his goals. With endeavor it just feels odd too me that becoming the number one hero, suddenly just fixed his issues with being abusive. There wasn't much like deliberation about his previous actions or understanding about why what he did was wrong, he just realizes it out of nowhere which was kinda what hurt his character to me. I did like his character in the end more, but I wish they actually showed his change in thinking if he was such a big part in the end of the manga. I guess when it comes to deku alone its kinda ok, but for like the last 40-50 chapters, the fights were bad to me with like one okay one at best, all for ones backstory sucked, a lot of my favorite characters got like a panel or two, while a lot of the worse characters got whole arcs near the end. I think what happened to deku wasn't the worst overall in the ending, just the way it was portrayed wasn't like the grand happy ending youd expect for a series like this.

@@Zyhius The overall arc with Gentle was just OK, definitely not a high stakes battle, just liked the choreography on the construction site. He didn't really suddenly fix it though. He's always been trying to gain Todoroki's respect, even from the beginning, only getting a cold shoulder in response. He talked with All Might about the responsibilities of being the #1 hero, and Deku told him that Todoroki and Deku weren't going to be stand-ins for Endeavor's grudge against All Might during the tournament. When he actually is the #1 hero, he sees how other people don't really respect him the way they respected All Might too, and he gets injured in the fight against the Nomus. His physical abuse had already been a thing of the past at the start, he was still an awful father obviously, but definitely less so than when Todoroki was a kid. The overall final arc was bad, just the epilogue was alright.

@@onetimeweebthe final arc a disaster ? How ? It sure was not perfect but calling it bad is just wrong. The majority of character plotlines/conflicts had a good to perfect conclusion. The arc has some of the best moments in the series. The lows can be low but the highs are way higher. Theres just no way of consciously rating this less than 5/10 without being a hater. I think it would be more interesting to talk about the manga overall than only one arc. But this review, no irony, is just bad. Maybe thats why he got so little views idk.
