Really good, straight to the point and clear. So we should use KPIs as "lead" indicators and OKRs as "lag" indicators.

Loved this video and the timing, Layla! Especially with 2023 quickly approaching goal setting and business planning is definitely on my mind. Really enjoyed the explanation and helped clarify, however, would've loved an example of an objective with a key result and how a key performance indicator would support the OKR. For instance, using the biz example in the video, if the objective were to make $10K [O] by booking 10 clients [KR] then two examples of KPIs to track would be 1) how many inquiry forms are being completed and 2) how many of those inquiries are booking a sales call? Here's hoping I got that straight lol.

Very good explanation. More often KPIs (confusing) are set where instead an OKR needs to be set and as you explained, KPIs then fall within the set OKR.

We'll need a lot of KRs to reach the Objective and we'll want some KPIs to measure how faster we're moving towards it. 😉

KPI: critical to business performance: if you don't know your performance on these, you don't know your business. I prefer 'critical' to 'key'. The former gets attention, the latter is over-used. Plus, you don't need more than half a dozen, and know their relationships.
