Avantasia's Moonglow album is excellent, tho I prefer their previous album Ghostlights. The two guest singers on this song are Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian and Demons & Wizards) and Jorn Lande (Jorn). Tobias Sammet the founder of Avantasia and lead singer, also founded Edguy. The other songs also feature excellent singers from other iconic bands. Excellent reaction. Keep up the energy and positivity. We all need more of that now.

Hello, Rana! Greetings from Brazil! Avantasia is one of my favorite bands, so I'd like to contribute by adding some meaning to the song. As an opera metal project, Avantasia's albums are all concept albums. According to one of Tobias Sammet's interviews regarding Moonglow, this is an album about "a nocturnal creature struggling to cope with the bright reality of the bold and the beautiful, the reality that it's been created into, and ends up resorting to the darkness of the moonglow to hide itself from the world." The lyrics are too poetic and I can't understand it all, but you can think about a creature trying to deal with expectations, the feeling of feeling out of place and stuff like that, which we all felt someday in our lives. Having said that, I can find some examples in the lyrics which I think can represent well this idea. At the beginning of the song, the second paragraph is "Where the castle looks out to the valley Where I'm given all the love that I crave Not afraid of the rising sun laying bare my brittle soul" For me, this represents this night creature getting out of its comfort zone, letting the sunshine strike it and reveal its soul. Of course, the creature is also judged for this: "In your altered state of mind In vain you're chasing light!" You can also feel the creature sentiment of displacement in these lines. The creature feels like it's not part of the crowd. Others' words simply do not resonate with his. "A million voices fade away I never really got what they're trying to say For my words, there's no getting through" You can also see the creature is divided between two worlds when the lyrics tell about the "night's Plutonian shore". This is a reference to the poem "The Raven", by Edgar Allan Poe. Pluto is the Roman god of the underworld, and the "night's Plutonian shore" is a metaphor for the frontier between two different worlds. This is just my personal interpretation of some of the lyrics, but as the great poems usually do, it has different meanings for each person. I hope more people can share their interpretations of this song! Now, about Avantasia, you should really check songs from their first albums, The Metal Opera Part I and II. They're also concept albums, but in the case of The Metal Opera, each singer plays the role of a different character in a storyline explained throughout the songs. I'd recommend you listening to "Reach out for the light", it's the first song with lyrics in the first album, so it's right the beginning of the story (and if you wanna go for a live performance, search for Reach out for the Light at The Flying Opera, 2011). The main character is Gabriel Laymenn (Tobias Sammet), a novice who's part of a witch hunt. However, when his sister is accused of witchery, he starts being suspicious, and he's caught by a friar reading a secret book and is thrown at the dungeons, where he meets a druid... and the rest of that would be a spoiler. The lyrics for these first albums are much more literal than Avantasia's later works, so you can keep up with the story. Now I feel like I wrote way too much, but I hope I could contribute with something :)

Ótima interpretação. Estou buscando no Google e KZbin por alguma interpretação dessa letra magnifica. E não imaginava achar em um comentário de um brasileiro em um vídeo gringo a melhor explicação!

The Avantasia albums always count with several guests stars in order to make the story more theatrical, giving life to the characters, The singers in this one are: Tobias Sammet, Jorn Lande and Hansi (Blind Guardian' singer); Power metal in vein

All 3 of these singers can belt it out and have incredible range. All 3 definitely need a separate reaction. My first suggestion would be Ark - Heal the Waters for Jorn Lande.

All if avantasia's albums are rock operas. This album is about a noctunal creature searching for his place in the world while encountering a number of characters seeking to influence him. A few lines seem to imply the protagonist is a shooting star that fell to earth and came to life.
