I saw Lorna Shore back in December for a Christmas show they did in Worcester, Massachusetts, and yes i wore musician's earplugs. I go to metal shows quite frequently and i almost always wear hearing protection. If i don't my ears will ring and things will seem a little quieter until the afternoon the following day.

Will Ramos is absolutely unique! You described it very well, he mastered the whole range of growling and harsh vocals in just one song! And that breakdown at the end....just incredible what kind of sounds he squeeezes out of his throat... Fun fact: The Charismatic Voice, Elisabeth Zharoff, made a video with him pulling camera down his throat while he does these screams and growls, just to see what happens there physically... I can understand that this is not for everybody, but on the extreme end of deathcore (the style of Lorna Shore is often mentioned as blackened deathcore because of the black metal elements in their sound) they are the masters!

Just dug through your videos to see if you've covered 'em yet (I figured there's some overlap with the K-pop and J-rock crowds) but I don't think you've ever done a video on Dir en grey. At least not one I've seen. In case you're not familiar, Their vocalist, Kyo, has one of the widest vocal ranges in metal and their videos and live performances are... "Unique." I believe they're doing their 25th anniversary thing right now and just dropped their 33rd single, so I'd actually recommend three videos to check out if you're interested as their corpus is vast. The World of Mercy (particularly the live performance from "The World You Live In [Behind Closed Doors]") Revelation of Mankind Ain't Afraid to Die I would also recommend "Agitated Screams of Maggots [UNPLUGGED]" in the event you ever find yourself experiencing too much joy and want to know what it would sound like if agony was a song.

i hate to be that guy, but it does not matter what show you go to whether its k-pop, metal, country, rap, if you are at a concert you should be wearing hearing protection, unfortunately i tend to forget mine lol. It also varys widely depending on the type of venue your in. If you are in an open air venue, you are likely not going to get hearing damage, but in even some of the biggest arenas, you can actually feel your hearing getting damaged without ear plugs, again does not matter what type of concert you go to. You are not at all alone in your kind of reaction, just watch The Charismatic Voice if you haven't already: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fovEh4t7arqkl7Msi=FH5KMY4QdUj_65Vj I am very positively surprised that you kind if liked parts of it. I would say that you are not a hopeless attempt to get to listen to this kind of music. Because most often, if you are trying to make someone like a certain genre, the approach by showing the hardest possible song isn't the way to go. You usually need to use the "boiling frog" approach. About Will Ramos, you has to check out a video with him being normal to see what a sweetheart he actually really is. I do like Lorna Shore a lot! But Lately I've fallen more in love with the band Mental Cruelty. Both their two latest releases is absolutely awesome. I'd love to see you reach to one of their songs from the latest album called Zwielicht. Don't worry, it's not in German, except for that song with the same name as the album, but that isn't a metal song and doesn't portray their music really, isn't more of a intermission kind of. Btw, it's the same guy making the video production of both Lorna Shore and Mental Cruelty. I think you could appreciate the song Nordlys. 💜🤘
