53:57 'Their highest' No, this is not 'their highest'. They have 9 years of career and 24 albums in total. Monsta x is SUCH a talented group and they have been able to successfully experiment with so many genres. Their rappers can sing, their vocalists can rap, and 3 of the 6 members compose and write the songs, which guarantees a lot of musical variety. They have spectacular title tracks, but 'their highest' is in b-sides like Crescendo, Chaotic, Stand Togheter, Wildfire, Destroyer, Queen, Lost in the Dream, Mercy, Got me in chains, U R, Beastmode, Guess Who, AND, Lone Ranger and more Their discography is just top notch that deserved more apreciation

They have a spectacular rap line (Jooheon and I.M), they are all amazing dancers, and their vocal line is well known to be one of the best in the industry (their vocal stability is no joke even when doing intense choreographies, and they also have one of the best vocalists in kpop, Yoo Kihyun; so it's absurd to say that their vocals are their weakness, is like ???). They have songs like Shoot Out, which was literally a cultural reset of kpop and influenced A LOT with 4th gen concept, aesthetic, styles and musical direction Shoot Out, Alligator, Dramarama, Hero and Love Killa are songs that are already considered iconic in the kpop scene, that's why many 4th gen groups have covered them a lot, just because you guys don't like a songs doesn't mean it isn't a bop, that's all I can say.

For Jooheon, he (and I.M) are 2 of the most credited idols with the Korea Copyright Association. He’s been writing for other groups since before he debuted and other companies would even ask for him to train their trainees in rap. He’s been producing for MX since their beginning but the bsides, and writing for the title tracks. But he produced Gambler, Love and Rush Hour. They vote on what songs make albums, and for Gambler, when MX didn’t like a title track potential A&R picked up, they told the company and ended up voting to make Gambler the title track and Jooheon has been doing a lot of the titles since then. He’s a HUGE MJ fan. Also MX has had a huge influence on the soundscape and aesthetics of 4th gen esp 4th bgs. Stray Kids are big fans and look up to them too (there are cute videos of BangChan reacting to them)

I should NOT have read the comments first before watching the reaction video…I love it when I see new people discover and react to Monsta X for the first time…now I have a feeling I’m going to be sad and disappointed. Yes, everyone has their own opinion but the amount of work and dedication these men have put into making, writing and PRODUCING their music and for their talent to be brushed off like lint is disappointing. I’ll see if I have to edit the post after I watch the video….. Ok, so I’ve watched the video and I will say that I will respect your feelings and opinions…if you just don’t like them, you don’t like them and that’s fair, but I feel like you did harp on them a lot. Wonho was accused of using "cannabis" by a female who got her kicks by accusing idols of illegal things. (she was finally caught and arrested years later) Anyhow, Wonho was cleared of these allegations, but during all this, he left Monsta X because he cared about the backlash the rest of the group might get. He has since gone solo under a sister company of Starship and was doing a damn fine job of it until he had to take a break due to mandatory military service.

Second, if they have Gods Menu, Monsta x has Shoot Out (a total cultural reset in kpop). Monsta X has great title tracks but their B-sides is where they'll really catch you. Like Crescendo, Nobody Else, You can't hold My Heart, Autobahn, Wildfire, AND etc.

For me where Monsta-X really shines on their b-sides. I go back and listen to their albums in their entirety on a regular basis. As the members are given more control and input the better the music gets. So, found you all since I am a Monbebe. I disliked you less as the video continued 😂 My take away, you need to only listen to the NEWEST Monsta X music and b-sides. They are basically given free reign now on their music. Honey is one of the best all around people in kpop, especially writer/producer. Kyun is worldly singing, hands down known as one of the best singers in all of kpop. You are correct about their rapping because this is the best rap line in kpop.

So I always appreciate when folks give them a look. ❤ While I am a Monbebe of several years, it is hard to decide What may appeal to your tastes. So I'll give you a scattershot version.😂 Firstly, for something Like 3Racha, you Have to watch Joohoney and I.Ms' live performance Sambakja/Triple Rhythm. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpnUlXWhe6iaZrssi=0Wz0p6Vch7xpveBT This is the only one I know right off with both of them. They have both released solo projects too. I can't name I.M's songs readily but for Joohoney you can also check out Smokey and Hype Energy just for starters. For MX as a group there really is so much. Fighter, Jealousy, Shoot Out, and Love Killa are options. Personally, I think they throw down on energy and rap with Beastmode and Zone but they don't have videos so you'll have to go with a live performance or lyric video. (Saw those two in concert and the Whole place was vibing). For vocals, I end up going back to the English songs. Probably, because I know those best but I definitely agree with others that they Have the vocals. So, One Day, Whispers in the Dark, Someone's Someone, and Who Do You Love. I'm sure others will come up with more but these are my recs. Hope you'll continue down the rabbit hole that is MX and Kpop. 😊

Joohoney has a solo (I personally don’t like it) but he also has two mixtapes that are so good and worth listening to, some of the tracks have mvs if you guys are interested in reacting to them. He and changkyun have an unreleased rap track that they performed at a concert called sambakja (?) and it has that energy that you can compare to stray kids I think, the performance is in KZbin too and the dinamic is really good. Joohoney has produced several songs for Monsta x but gambler was his first title track, he also produced Love and rush hour. Changkyun and Hyungwon are also producers of some of their songs but hyungwon doesn’t only produce for Monsta x but for several other groups. Most of the members already have their own solos except for Minhyuk who doesn’t have one yet, and Hyungwon and shownu have a subunit. I hope to see more reactions to mx. I really like the honest reviews 💕

I also would like to recommend Cosmic girls (WJSN). They’re also from starship entertainment and have in my opinion the best songs in kpop. Exy, the leader and the rapper is also a songwriter and producer not only for wjsn but for other groups too like IVE, Cravity and much more.

Monbebe here... Hero was the song that hooked me but when I heard their other songs is when I fell in love. Gambler, Love, and Rush Hour were all produced and written by JooHoney. They are also the most recent. I will say IMO the MX b-sides are WAY better than their title tracks (aside from the three JooHoney did). Their vocals are amazing, but these songs are not their best vocal songs in my opinion.

I love Monsta X but don't really like Hero, I prefer Alligator, Shoot Out, and Jealousy from their older albums. They also have a ton of newer stuff that is full English and their Bsides are usually better - imo - than their title tracks - less formulatic with the singing to rap ratio - not everyone has to sing on B side, unlike title tracks, so songs can showcase certain members better allowing for more vocal range - more diversity of genre The album that Love is on has so many great B sides... Im pretty sure I have Burning Up and And on loop for a week. tl;dr Their title tracks are "hits" but they don't showcase much outside the formulaic style of kpop music.

Monsta X's 9-year discography is so diverse, you might not find the songs you like best in just one period of their career (in this case 2021-2022, with a glimpse at their baby era). If you'd like to give them another go, I would suggest to listen to one of their albums as a whole. Otherwise, your reaction was extremely refreshing. As a monbebe, I'm used to either hearing only praises or unreasonable hate, so I'm glad you had sound reasoning on each matter. About vocals... to each their own, I guess. I do think Monsta X are on the weaker side compared to other groups, but I never thought that their songs could be sung better by some of those groups
