It’s not that the videos dont do justice to the vocals - girl thats nonsense they sound gorgeous hahaha. It’s the fact that many people who are very visually oriented cannot focus on too many things at once, especially when watching something in a foreign language. The MVs are very detailed, plus have to read subtitles, plus the choreo, pkkus the instrumentstiom of the song. People who dont actually have a musical ear dont often realize just how difficult and intricate Exo vocals and harmonies are, even if they are already fans.

That's why EXO always sounds better live than their actual MV's or studio versions. Sometimes the overproduction on the studio versions takes away how great their vocals are. And these videos you reacted to are like 10% of their vocal talents. I like their title tracks but their B-side songs are where the gems are actually at.

I don't know why I keep watching these videos. Half the time I'm offended 😂. Saying the vocals are lacking for EXO is wild. Especially when Chen and Baekhyun were breaking their backs hitting those high notes in Obsession. Also, Tempo is perfection as is. All of SM's groups have that one song that is wild, but somehow works (SNSD-I got a boy, EXO-Tempo, Aespa-Next Level, Red Velvet-Zimzalabim). I love when they go off the rails. It's weird but fresh.

I think i might be for the same reason as me...honesty. i think that the reason their reaction is so interesting is because they always say what on their mind. Even if it negatif. And since they're not being rude with it, it fun to watch how some people that aren't too far gone in the kpop rabbit hole actually feel about the music. And i can respect and appreciate that. Ok, I really don't get your criticism about lacking vocals, but you are entitled to your opinion. I do agree that Let me in is amazing. One thing I have to say is that EXO's b-sides are out of this world and most of the time, in my opinion, better than their title tracks. EXO are the Vocal Kings and they sound the best in their live performances. Acoustic Medley, 2024 B-sides live and Killing Voice are a must. And Universe, since you appreciate their slow songs.

I have never heard a better group than Exo vocally. Exo has the best vocal control and live stability than any other boy group. To say that their vocals lack luster is honestly absurd considering some other groups can barely carry a performance live. All of Exo's tracks are continuously beautiful and skillful in vocals given that the members still receive vocal coaching 11 years into their career. Even their rappers constantly improve their vocals and rap. I can understand if the song's style wasn't to your taste, but the vocals are leaps and bounds above average. I'm trying to see where you are coming from knowing that some groups I love don't always do their best in vocals, but Exo is on a different level than most. If title tracks are too much and don't show their vocals enough, I suggest listening to their bsides and live performances. I understand that you have an opinion, I just hope that with more information you can see that Exo is an extremely talented and amazing group.

In all 3 of the upbeat songs the producers layered the vocals. They created harmonies and other techniques to make each singer stand out while also blending together beautifully. I just don't see why they had a critique with the vocal production in the first place. Exo sings great and the production is also great.

My questions is all three upbeat songs are Legendary for the production point of view, I never saw any professional yap about these three song's production, layering, mixing, infact these three songs are known for it’s godly. So saying the singing part is lack luster is insulting.The production of these three songs are PERFECT, Tempo could have been wasted if they produce it differently, so many elements, but yet harmonious, Obsession is the textbook of perfect use of vocal effects, but still keep it soft, the melodiec part makes it unique, otherwise you will go mad with the constant i want you and hard hitting dark part. None of their criticism makes sense. Tons of EXO-l / multis trying to please them, do not come out as toxic, but I can't but criticize their criticism.

they didn't say vocals were lackluster in Obsession. guy on the right said "vocal melody" and went on to talk about melody, NOT vocals. vocals is the quality of your voice, how well you sing. melody is what notes you sing, which is chosen by the songwriters. with that being said, i disagree with their opinion. the pre chorus and chorus ARE melodically sparse, but it serves the song well and suits the vibe. (think about what NOTES they sing for "I don't think so" and the lyrics in between) they're short, punchy, distorted/edited in a cool way, but definitely not melodically interesting

I'm sorry but your expert/critic attitude should be backed by some type of proof that you know what you're talking about. The lack of a "what can I learn from this?" attitude just irks me. Kazinho compares the first and last parts of the songs as the worst and best parts, but the whole point is aiming for good storytelling. You play with strength and softness, with subtlety and harshness, you add and subtract layers, you play with tension and release. Otherwise it could result in flatness. When critiquing something, you should be able to differentiate between your personal preferences and your objective analysis, and show that you know what they did and why they did it. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean that it's not good.

EXO are widely known as vocal kings of k-pop and their 3 member main vocal line is known as the vocal-trinity. They are highly acclaimed by many vocal coaches and critics and are idols of many idols. Most of their discography is heavy on vocals and harmonies and most importantly ALL members can sing, even the rappers. They are unmatchable live and have won many awards and continue to win and break records even with their solo projects. Speaking of solo projects and being that you guys are into vocals, you MUST react to some of the members' solos or/and collaborations to have an understanding of why they are known as vocal kings. You can start with Baekhyun's "All I Got", Chen's "Last Scene", D.O.s "Tell me what is love" and you can take it from there. If vocals is what you are after, EXO is a vocal treasure. No one did it like them before and still does not do it when it comes to vocals.

They're saying that they are not doing it, not that they can't. And you can have your own opinion on that criticism, but if even EXO-L's always say that they sound way better live is exactly for that reason.

I feel sorry for these guys. They probably don’t listen to good music it’s not because K-pop or anything but it’s just because they don’t have good taste in music. I have least favorite songs of EXO but I never thought EXO is lacking vocals. They never mentioned about EXO’s vocal harmony so I bet they don’t have ear to appreciate music (not only EXO). Probably wanted to make money with reaction videos but would recommend doing anything else other than music.

There are 9 members in exo now. The profile is lacking of Lay who is the only one Chinese member in exo. He is the main dancer, vocalist, his super power is healing. His contract with SM terminated in 2022, and he runs his own entertainment company in China, but he is still the member of exo. His main activities is in China now as a singer, musician, producer and actor.

Monster is from 2016, so I think Tiktok wasn't that much of a consideration ;) It's interesting to hear your opinion on these songs! Obsession is usually the song reactors love, and Monster is a fan favorite. Tempo is so cool, it's got a bit of everything! Gotta agree on the other two songs, Exo is very strong on soft vocal heavy songs!

It's about time for my fav Group.. EXO is known for their strong Vocal. One of the great vocalists among kpop groups. 😍🫂 You can also react to their ballad songs, as they are known for their vocals. Here's my recommendations: Miracle in December Promise Don't Go Paper Cuts P.s look for the live performance for the last three songs. I think you'll like it better. Great reaction!!

I‘m already looking forward to part 2👍 To be honest I was a bit surprised at the song choices for this review, I don‘t think any of these are EXO‘s strongest or most „beginner-friendly“ songs but I‘m glad you guys noticed their positive aspects and talents regardless! I‘m surprised you didn‘t criticize their rap parts more because 9 out of 10 times I personally would prefer it if the rap line would sing instead. Just like basically everyone I also think EXO is extremely strong vocally and it‘s what I enjoy most about their songs! I also agree that some better vocal direction etc. in certain parts could make much better use of their voices I hope that next time you can learn even more about especially my favorite vocalists in EXO (and basically all of Kpop) Chen, D.O and Baekhyun. For example Chen can be heard at 18:51 Baekhyun can be heard at 19:54 and D.O can be heard at 21:02. At 39:31 Chen can be heard singing with Baekhyun in the background followed by Baekhyun singing with D.O and then Chen in the background. At 11:54 you can hear Chen singing the highnotes (with a bit of Baekhyun in the back) followed by Baekhyun singing the highnotes (Unfortunately D.O wasn’t on that song because he was in the military at that time) My personal opinions about the songs reviewed in this video: 1. I love the overall „cool vibe of the song“ but unfortunately I don‘t like the rap parts at all and it‘s a bit too repetitive for me 2. I like the song but out of every ballad EXO has it‘s actually one of the more forgettable ones for me personally so I‘m really curious to hear what you would think about their other ballads 3. It’s a decent song, not their strongest but I like to listen to it from time to time! I really like the „babygirl~“ part lol! Also I agree with you guys that different arrangements would be a fun idea 4. Actually quite enjoy the rap part in this one which is rare for me… Still don‘t consider it one of my favorites by EXO but regardless really nice to listen to! I do love it it‘s just that my favorite EXO songs are too good in comparison with it haha… similarly to how you couldn‘t praise most parts in „Tempo“ because the bridge with their vocals was too nice 5. I basically have the same rating for this song as you guys Please check out more EXO! I especially like their b-sides and older albums (2020 and older) but to be honest I could enjoy basically anything Chen, D.O and Baekhyun sing, they‘re not only skilled but also have nice voices to begin with. EXO in general have amazing vocals :)
