I didn't know idols have to swear to celibacy when they debut. This is just one of the reasons I do not invest myself into anything non-music related in kpop, I just get too angry at the way they are treated. Hopefully marriage gets normalized soon enough, so many 2nd and 3rd gen idols are in relationships an/or married already, they are not girls and boys for you to drool over and claim as your possession!

I think this is definitely a western vs SK viewpoint issue. I am an American so our celebrities dating/marrying/ divorcing and everything in between is normal to us. But for whatever reason not as publicly normalized in SK. I also think the other huge part of the issue is Kpop was built and run to promote parasocial relationships. The companies are trying to get fans infested heavily in caring and loving their idol so when this stuff happens people flip out. So this will just continue until the whole dynamic in kpop changes

If you marry someone who's 10 years older than you or more, something is wrong with you, tbh. And that wouldn't look good on certain levels. Change my leg. To name two examples are that how the family will probably look down at it and how that will most likely ruin the baby's looks. It's such a hypocritical stance. People will tell you "I love xx because they make me happy." But when your idol finds happiness, this same idea can't apply to them? You should be happy for your idol regardless if you really support them. If not, some fans are living in a delusional parasocial world and that's not healthy.

Para-social relationships get messy fast. I try not to use the word "entitled" too often but I think it applies here. Fans really seem to believe they're entitled to the entire devotion of the artist, and that's quite literally insane. Acing like they don't have human rights because they are entertainers. K-Netizens want slaves, not artists. Vile. Also I know we've called them "idols" forever but a change in lingo is due. Let's stop putting people on pedestals. We can appreciate artistry and genuinely enjoy the personalities and work of K-pop groups/artists, but perhaps idolization is NOT the way.

First of all Chen didn't got the black ocean as u stated. There are many fans who supported him wholeheartedly. There were some problematic toxic asses but also the genuine fans who are there for him. There are many pictures on bird app posted by exols (mind the real ones not some delusional pigs) which proves my statement. So before putting something look for honest source not the typical k-anti opinion. Hope u understand.
