Okay so one thing about B.A.P is that they speak out about societal issues such as mental health and more. so about the Badman video it's actually indeed about racism and police brutality. I read somewhere that Yongguk wrote this song after watching the news. I would recommend you to check out a guide on them but I have a list of them down below. Here's a list of the members: Bang Yongguk: the blonde rapper with the low voice. Positions: Leader, eldest and main rapper. Kim Himchan: The blonde vocalist with the deep voice Positions: sub vocal, rapper and visual. Jung Daehyun: The blonde one with the amazing vocals. Positions: Main vocalist and face of the group. Yoo Youngjae: the blonde one with the like 2000s style emo hair. Positions: Lead vocalist. Moon Jongup: The blonde B-boy one. Positions: Main dancer and lead vocalist. Zelo (real name: Choi Junhong) : The blonde one who rapped really fast. Positions: Lead dancer, lead rapper and maknae. They all have solo careers but Himchan hasn't released any music yet and Yongguk enlisted in the military last year so he's finishing his mandatory military service right now.

I honestly think BAP had all the potential to become what BTS is now, and their god-awful agency flushed it all down the drain. ( I could rant for hours about their struggles) It's a damn shame. They had the looks, choreo, vocals AND rap, and their lyrics speaking out about societal issues. I got into BTS because I was ALREADY into BAP. Badman wasn't one of my favorites in terms of songs, but I love the vocals for it. And yes, they incorporated stomp into Warrior. They were the only group I know of to do something like that at that time, and idk if any other group has done it since. I thought it was really cool. If you ever decide to branch out of their more dark and hard concepts later on for some softer bops, "Where Are You? What are you doing?" and "Feel So Good" are my favorites. Coffee Shop and Rain Sound are also softer in sound.

I agree. The fact that they got 8 rookie awards was such a feat (I only remember this from weekly idol but I think they got more wards including non-domestic). I was also into BAP before I was into BTS and I felt so honored seeing both of them on stage and I was like "wow, such great groups. I hope they come far" because I know they will but fck, TSEnt had to ruin it.

All bap's song had a lot of message on it. Especially about what happened in society. Some people back than thought that this kind of concept just too dark for kpop in 2012, but they still doing it, share the awareness through their songs. Check out BAP- Wake Me Up MV, it's about mental health issue in this society. Thanks for reacting to bap ❤

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REACTING TO B.A.P! They mean the wold to me, and I feel just great amount of happiness when people starts their jorney with them. This will be a really long comment, so please sit down, bring your popcorn, and enjoy this story time. B.A.P was a 6-member boy group that debuted back in 2012 with their title track WARRIOR. Interesting fact about it, the youngest member (who had 16 at that time) holds the record for “THE FASTEST RAP LINE IN A KPOP SONG” producing 16 - 18 syllables per second. That year EXO-K, CROSSGENE, BTOB, VIXX (among other known artists) debuted as well, bringing tough competition to these guys. Nonetheless, they were able to thrive and stood up due to their powerful image, and overwhelming energy. Their vocal and rap line is INSANELY GOOD! And don’t get me even started on their dance line! ABSOLUTE FIRE! They were known because of their down-to-earth concept, that is, ever since they debuted their songs held a strong meaning behind each line intending to wake the world up against unfairness, hardships, and abuse. Each of their MVs demonstrate how cruel, and difficult the world is. Even before BTS, no shading intended here, they talked about self-awareness, mental health, drug dealing, enemy gangs, racism, equal rights, and so on. This influence came from their leader Bang Yongguk, who was an underground rapper alongside with his friend Himchan (also a member of the group), so no wonder B.A.P’s songs touched a part of humanity Korean music is nowadays neglecting. In 2018, TSentertainment (their label) announced B.A.P’s leader had finished his contract with them, therefore he would no longer participate in any activity of the group. Soon after, as each of the remaining members’ contract reached their ending, one by one left the company. Surely, that was the hardest moment for us, as fans, but words of reassurance were spoken by them and promised to be back together once they fully recover from everything they had been through. Whilst they were still together, they delivered great tracks which were mainly produced by them. Even though they had a more hip-hop/ rock kind of vibe, they weren’t afraid of trying diverse genres in music. Actually, they had different singing abilities, and peculiar voices, that blended perfectly and complemented one another. This led to multiple possibilities at the moment of composing and picking up songs for their mini and full-length albums. The key to explore different styles and the opportunity to push their vocal limits. From rock to the softest of ballads, or hip-hop tracks to a more popish/ electro type of sound. They were genuinely good in all of them. It’s not that they didn’t have an identity of their own because they did. What made them different, beyond their music, was their personalities and hard-hitting lyrics about topics already mentioned. Here are some of their most famous ones: ONE SHOT(you already reacted to this one) and SKYDIVE. These tracks are movie like MVs that not only incorporates the main song but introduces some other tracks within the same album. Therefore, you have a full grasp on what the rest of the compilation will sound like. If you are into it, then you’re most definitely gonna love it! Some other powerful songs are: “YOUNG, WILD, AND FREE”, NO MERCY, 1004 (ANGEL), HANDS UP, HONEYMOON, WAKE ME UP, and POWER. Now, if you like these tracks, you might as well would like to check out their softer and laid back songs with lots of acoustic, Jazz, and R&B sounds like: RAIN SOUND, COFFEE SHOP (which some believe it’s a continuation story to ONE SHOT. Though, it is not 100% confirmed), and WHERE ARE YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? If you ever feel down, I would recommend you listen to more happy and funny singles such as: FEEL SO GOOD, STOP IT, CRASH (I suggest live performances, because they are really hilarious), and THAT’S MY JAM. They came from a very small company, but somehow, they were able to hold the title “rookie monster” because of how quickly they reached recognition. B.A.P was breaking the charts back in 2012 - 2014. They even got Billboard acknowledgments due to their younger achievements, including best rating albums with “FIRST SESIBILITY”, “ONE SHOT”, and “NOIR” reaching N°1 in each occasion. Multiple tours were held in different cities around the world, increasing their popularity overseas. Whereas, if it wasn’t because of their lawsuit situation against their company due to mistreatment and underpayment (November 27th, 2014), they would have triumphed in the music industry. During this process, they went to a hiatus for over a year, and when they came back (November 16th, 2015) their popularity wasn´t as strong as it was back then. They had so much to give and deliver and a strong message to convey, yet they were forced to move aside. *Facts about the group:* - Just in case you were wondering, B.A.P stands for “BEST ABSOLUTE PERFECT”. - Their logo is a mechanic rabbit called “MATOKI”. - Their fandom name is BABY (for girls) and WARRIOR (for boys). - They were supposed to be rabbits that came from space to save planet earth from devastation. Each member had a name and a mission to fulfil. - By now, you might be aware that every KPOP group or idol has their own anthem. A song that signifies too much not only for them, but for fans around the world. Usually, these songs are their debut tracks. In the case of B.A.P, bearing in mind that WARRIOR continues being our favourite song out of all their music, it wasn’t until they came up with their first complete album “FIRST SESIBILITY” that BABIES and WARRIORS found that song. “WITH YOU” talks about being alone and going through difficult times but finding someone you can trust, and how that person brings light, joy, and hope to your life. This song has empowered the whole fandom and it is almost impossible not to cry when listening to it. This also inspired the hashtag “#FOREVERWITHBAP” meaning that even though we cannot see each other as frequent as we would have, we are still thinking about each other, waiting to get back together. Until now, they are still using this hashtag. ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3PWqn2HYq11mtE ) These Days, they are mainly focused on their solo careers. Yongguk (the leader) has released several songs since 2014. On of them is “AM 4:44” which talks, more or less, his feelings about being betrayed and the trust he poured on the company. Really mighty song. His singles consist on mainly rapping, but he incorporates lots of Jazz, R&B, and acoustic sounds melodies in his music like: PORTRAIT and DRUNKENNESS (are 2 different MVs, but you need to watch them in that order), HIKIKOMORI (which in my opinion is one of his most important tracks. It describes his inner struggles with anxiety and other important matters. A very honest, painful, and heartfelt music video) and ORANGE DRIVE. As well as some hip-hop tunes and a sort of trap type of sound with YAMAZAKI (among many other). Daehyun (main vocalist) has released three solo songs. These are BABY, YOU’RE MY, and AIGHT. His mellow, though strong voice was made to sing ballads, but he has proven throughout the years that he can do many other genres in music as well. YoungJae (lead vocalist) has two mini-albums worth listening to. With a more popish and electro sound ANOTHER NIGHT and FOREVER LOVE (title tracks from each mini album) are really entertaining and relaxing as the same time. Junhong aka ZELO (his stage name and lead rapper/ dancer) also has two mini-albums, very different from one another. His first collection “DISTANCE” (album’s name) incorporates really good laid-back tracks along with great dancing songs such as QUESTIONS (title track) and “FLASH, PARTY” (which demonstrate how good of a dancer he is). On the other hand, we got his second mini album “DAY2DAY” which is a more mature collection. This one is very special because he himself made and produced it. From the writing, pictures, sounds, designs, every detail HE DID IT! I’d say this was more like his style. Like I picture him having lots of fun while creating this. Strong lyrics about disrespectful people and some other really explicit about “certain things”. Title track “SHE AND MALIBU”. Last, but not least, we got JongUp (main dancer) who recently debuted as a solo artist with his single-track HEADACHE. A retro and really upbeat song that I totally recommend listening to. I am sorry for this long comment, but these guys deserve so much love and using your platform may bring them back. People who listens to you, and haven’t heard of them, might look for their name and so we will make them appear again. New generations ought to know who they were and how important their message is nowadays. This is my gift to them and to you! I owe it to them as a BABY/ WARRIOR 😊

oh yeah, the rabbit its their mascot, its called matoki and each member had their own matoki character, they had some animations in the past, you also saw a rabbit in the end of the One Shot MV. Also you saw Zelo blowing a whistle in this MV, it was part of the fanchants when they performed their songs, b.a.p fans were the only fans to use a lightstick and a whistle during fanchants, it was pretty iconic if you ask me. it could be noisy but it was part of b.a.p concept anyway, pretty epic, imo it made the fans standout xD

So, this is coming from a hardcore BAP fan, or "baby" so I'm very biased. My profile pic is actually their lightstick and mascot, Matoki. BAP was my first kpop concert and they are the standard by which I judge today groups by. 100% when BAP went on hiatus the first time a LOT of groups came forward and filled the gap they left in the industry. Some of those groups might not have gotten off to as good of a start if BAP was still on the scene. Mind you, I'm not saying those groups didn't deserve it or anything...who really knows though? When they came back from their hiatus they did the "Live on Earth" Tour and I was able to see them then. They are one of those groups that is legitimately SO MUCH BETTER LIVE!!!! And you can see this in some of their later releases. The biggest message I took from them was to be yourself and stand up for what is right. Be unbreakable and stand your ground in the face of opposition. Young Guk is currently in the military I think? YoungJae(My bias

I think they did get some criticism for this, but I don't remember the details. You're right about it having a similar concept to Rage Against The Machine. The Leader of B.A.P -Yongguk writes their songs from real life issues or experiences that especially aren't talked about in Korea. For Badman he was watching American news and seeing all the violence and racism going on and wanted to bring awareness so that's what this concept and song is about and they filmed it in Detroit Michigan. Some people did take it the wrong way thinking it was showing African Americans as violent and bad, but they were trying to show the opposite and shed light on how racism and police brutality is a real problem and how they get treated as the badman. I feel like them fighting against the police is more of defending themselves or its a metaphor for coming together to fight these problems (not necessarily with violence) Almost all B.A.P songs (especially the darker ones) have some sort of important message or meaning. This group will always be in my top favs and what their company did to them is devastating and horrible. They were just getting huge and one of the most popular groups when all the bs with their company went down. I'm glad they are free from it, but man I miss them and really hope they one day comeback to make music together. Most of them have some great solo work too. This is my first time watching one of your videos, but I really loved your reaction and hope you continue to check them out because they have so many good songs and like you said no one does this kind of thing in kpop, they are super unique and talented. Can't wait to watch more reactions from you, Thank you 😊 P.S The bunny (who was a dj in their debut song Warrior) is their mascot and you'll see it a lot in their videos. Oh and if you like Warrior's then you would probably really like their song No Mercy because it has a similar sound and vibe.

They were the first Kpop group who sang no shitty love-dovey, girl friend boy friend, break ups, flirting, love love love stuff. BangYongGuk, the deep voice rapper, the leader, and their Singer song writer is a bone deep humanitarian and a socialist. Their lyrics were all about the bad politics and how youngsters should wake up, fight, and work hard to change the world. Bang was the man who aspired to be Martin Luther King, Jr. Although the MV are violent, if you watch his interviews, he’s the most pure hearted guy. I miss him a lot.

If i'm not wrong they recorded this Badman MV in Washington D.C. and it was their third E.P, they travelled to other cities to record other MVs as well, there is a bts video on youtube of them recording the MV. of their albums i would recommend any one of them because all of their b-sides are great, they have different types of songs, not only "hard" ones, they also have ballads, romantic, happy/fun songs, sad songs, if i had to chose one to start with it would be their second full length album "Noir", there is a b-side called Pray with only the rappers of the group (yongguk and zelo) and Fermata with only the vocals of the group.

B.A.P really wants to tell us about social issues since their debut days and Bad Man MV is one of the song that even babyz(B.A.P's fans) cannot easily understand, but we got the messages. The leader, Bang Yongguk, the one with deep voice is our role model in this field. They never stop talking about justice in this world. Later on we discover that they are one of the victim of injustice from their crappy company. Half sad but half glad they left the company and take a break. Keep wishing they will return as 6 again in near future. Thank you for your reaction. Go check their other songs. Their music range became more wide each year.

A quick introduction to B.A.P. As you mentioned in your mv, B.A.P stands for Best Absolute Perfect. The rabbit you see there, is their mascot, we call it Matoki. The group consist of: Bang Yongguk (leader) Kim Himchan Jung Daehyun Yoo Youngjae Moon Jongup Choi Junhong (stage name: Zelo). Warrior is their debut song and as you can see, they killed it! They won many Rookie of the Year Awards in 2012! Not only does B.A.P go hard on their songs, but the fans (BABYz) go hard on the fanchats. What makes us different from other fans, is that we have whistles that are blown to match the fanchats/the beat of the songs.

It's so nice still seeing people enjoy their music, it makes my heart so happy! Having been their fan since the beginning and going through all the ups and downs with them really makes one feel like they're family ❤️ The one in the beginning with the deep voice is/was their leader Bang Yongguk - he still does his own music and has a KZbin channel (he's in the army atm tho) The fast rapper with curly hair is Zelo (Choi Junhong) the maknae and he was 15 at that time (he afterwards became the tallest of the group) - he still does music as well on KZbin under byzelo The one with the very strong vocals is Daehyun, he's loud, likes to eat and nowadays does a lot of musicals (as far as I know) The other ones are Youngjae (now into acting), Jongup (still doing music as well) and Himchan The message they're mostly trying 5 to get across is social justice and awareness of mental health, since Yongguk struggled with it himself and he wrote most of their songs. They as well have funny, more cutesy songs because their label thought many songs were too deep and dark. Song recommendations: Young Wild and Free, Wake me up, Dystopia, 1004(Angel), Skydive, Ribbon in the Sky, Kingdom..

I didn't discover BTS, thus Kpop in general, until 2016. By the time I branched out from BTS I found a lot of older groups, some that still continue and some who have sadly disbanded before I even knew of their existence. I discovered a lot through, Kdramas, researching actors who have caught my attention through acting....then discover they also make music. For example, one such person, was Lee HongGi, who I noticed when he played "Jeremy" in the Kdrama "You're Beautiful ". He turned out to be the leader and main vocalist of F.T. Island. Another was Song JiEun who was the lead in the Kdrama "Secret Romance", then I discovered she was once in the group Secret, which she left and then had a solo career. I really enjoy her solo stuff and this is where I discovered the " deep voice guy" that turned out to be the former leader of B.A.P. Check this out: Going Crazy by Song JiEun (featuring Bang YongGuk from BAP) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGK3fZSQpZacbqc This is one of my favorite songs. I love the contrast between their voices.

The issue about B.A.P aside from the lawsuit against their shitty company is that... this group was led by Bang Yongguk (BYG), who happened to be an activist, a very smart guy, very socially aware of the problems around the world. B.A.P used to work with UNICEF a lot and did lots of charity. They also encouraged their fans to do good (the fandom actually collected donations to do stuff under B.A.P's name), but the Korean community back in the days didn't like it, and B.A.P was constantly under pressure to please the K-fans (despite having way larger international fandom) and slowly BYG was restraint from making music due to his 'rebellious' tendency. They filed a lawsuit against the company which lasted about 2 years and resulted to a switch of the company's CEO, and then they started promoting again. However it was never the same because their relationship with the company was already on bad terms. The fans started to notice how BYG purposely got cut off the frame during group promotional interviews and so on. After B.A.P disbanded, believe it or not, the fans were more happy than sad because the boys were finally free from their company's clutches (3 out of 6 members were hospitalized due to overwork, they were severely underpaid despite making million dollars out of tours, they made lesser than a worker at convenience store, the CEO came up to a meeting drunk when the members requested to review contract etc. It was messy af)

i wish you reacted to rest of baps mv too :)) in this day i can see how people can see this mv and be like that it’s a little problematic from having black actors acting this out in their mvs but at the time,, the reason for this mv was because bang yongguk the guy w the deep voice and who writes a lot of bap songs i think all of them, he was learning english and watching american news and saw a lot of hatred against black people in america and like racism obviously and police brutality and no one even knew about that in korea. most of their songs are about society and real issues so this is just one of them that bang yongguk wanted to i guess bring awareness(?) with this music video but it was also 2013 which doesn’t seem long ago but it was like 10+ years and things are so different now. anyways just wanted to explain why they made this their mv, also, please react to more bap as i just found ur channel now and still love bap so much and want to see more reactions ❤

their message is world piece basically. Bang yongguk (leader, songwriter and producer who didn't sell his soul for fame unlike others we won't name) is an extreme pacifist (the one with the low voice who looks the most dangerous lol). He couldn't speak until he was 5 btw. This short docu might be interesting for you kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpiTgJKHnKyLj7c

saw them live 4 times. I feel bad for people who haven't and never will have the chance again. they sang 1000% live with a live band not like these weaklings nowadays

actually this group can be BTS level now if their management is not corrupt treat them well,,yeah their label company is really2 bad and destroyed them, BAP they already make big concert in newyork time square and gained many fans around the world and equal to exo at that time before people comment about bts vs exo.

There are only 3 kpop groups that I feel like no matter where I am, or when it might be for me, I’d never get tired of/dislike/or simply don’t care about any more and these are BIGBANG, BAP, and WINNER. BAP has a special place in my heart, I loved almost all of their songs -and still do- and I loved how they have always had a message behind every hit songs they make. They were simply too early for kpop to realize/acknowledge their mark or print or whatever you call it, and their agency was one of the worse unfortunately. They were amazing. And they still are. It’s just sometimes life isn’t fair and kind for everyone who deserves it as you know, and BAP were, sadly, one of these people. But they really are the best, absolute, perfect. I really miss them, all 6 of them, and wish to see them someday. I’d literally give all my money to witness them on stage, this is one of my oldest dreams that sadly doesn’t seem like it’d happen any time soon 💔

Hi. I know it's been a year since you uploaded this but I just want to clear something up. :) B.A.P's songs and lyrics usually tackle about injustices, hatred and more generally social issues that are not addressed well in the society. Ever since Warrior, their debut song, up until the very last song they did as a group, they sing with deep lyrics and strong beats to show aggression, not in a rebellion way, but a message to tell everyone that it will always be the time for us to speak up and fight for our rights. Having these issues discussed are not always the cup of tea of everyone. Only a few are ready for this type of conversations. The members, who experience the injustice first hand, only speak for the oppressed with their songs. Luckily, all of them got a solo career now but the vocalists Daehyun and Youngjae also entered the acting industry. :) I hope you still check out their solo songs as they show a different vibe each.

Badman was filmed in Detroit. And they spoke out about a lot of social issues throughout their careers. But their company treated them worse than dirt and basically killed their careers instead of simply paying them what they deserved and earned.

i dont know if anyone said this in the comments, and i know that this is 2 yrs late, but they filmed badman in detroit! that large building is the old train station. the place theyre filming inside of is the old abandoned michigan theater (it suffered more damage from fure a few years after filming this mv ☹️) and there are a lot of other famous detroit locations like the joe louis fist ! i use to drive by most of that stuff all the time :) they filmed badman and hurricane (in los vegas) while they were on tour in the US if i recall correctly

BAP shot up with this song for their debut, far surpassing their contemporaries like EXO, BTOB, and Nu’est. TS Entertainment ruined everything for them and it’s just saddening.

This was way before helmets like that meant EDM, that’s their debut and the dj is wearing a mask with their mascot called a matoki, and they each had one that represented them and on their lightstick and merch….And you mentioned the rock elements, that was their style to mix hiphop and rock

I think Daft Punk and Deadmau5 had been doing the helmet thing for a long time by their debut.

@@KpopPrince yeah, I just meant that back then unless you were a fan of the music, the average person probably had no idea what was going on there, unlike now after the dj/producer boom happened and they went from playing in obscure European music festivals to collaborating with a list artists

All of us who are in kpop for years know that BAP could go far was the competition of exo and bts, only more complete since if bts has flaws with their vocals BAP had fantastic vocalists, if exo in rap fails obviously BAP I had good rappers in addition to composing, producing and their choreographies were powerful, it hurts for the garbage of companies that I play and I destroyed them to find what was fair for them, ts would take them out of the hospital to give concerts, I paid them almost nothing years ago If they are successful, I take away their rights to the TS songs, it's rubbish, I hope one day these guys will be rewarded
