They almost won #1 in Music Bank with 'Trespass', and after that they became know for "noisy music" and many ppl did not like them... But I feel like even tho many people don't think of Monsta X as a big group, they introduced many trends in K-Pop not only musically speaking but also fashion especially for more edgy/sexy songs!! Before MONSTA X harnesses were not a thing and I think they found their color and full confidence right after 'Beautiful' era, 'HERO' also popularized the noisy type of song so many people were not fond at the time but enjoy now!!

I'm glad you watched Trespass and Rush Hour back to back, because Jooheon's intention while producing Rush Hour was to kinda pay homage to their debut sound! It was to show that they're still the same and they are proud of their sound and the influence they've had on kpop with it ☺️ also how they refuse to change to please others (the lyrics sort of talk about this too)

Monsta X debuted with lots of hype, they were Sistar's little brothers and also No Mercy, their survival show also helped with the hype, they almost got their first win with Trespass however right after their first comeback, Minhyuk tore his knee ligaments and had to undergo surgery, at the same time Changkyun also hurt his ankle and had to get a surgery with 2 members missing group took a hiatus which came really early in their careers, it hadn't even been a year since debut, this resulted in a loss of interest in the group, lots of fans left, hype died down and it took them 2.5 years to get their first win. Since they're scared of losing fans they never took a rest since that hiatus, literally. Their style was not well suited for the general public. They were the "loud" group, "too aggressive", "scary" despite all these they continued their way and even set some trends, leather, harnesses, they forged the Monsta X sound and style, although they are a very versatile group all their songs and performances has that Monsta X sound that make you go aaaah this is Monsta X

Yes, Monsta X were called beast idols and noise music. I love that they never gave up or changed. They've matured, and experimented with genres but never lost their flavor.

Did you noted between Trespass and Rush Hour we have two members less?? And how this amazing, beautiful, talented and hardworking group still works? Wonho left this group at final of the 2019 because false rumors of his younger behavior, some whit bad intentions accused to him to a bad things and he to protect the rest of the members decided to left the group, and our beautiful leader Shownu right now is enlisted in military. This is Monsta X a group with everything against is still bringing!

They make my favorite music in all of KPop and they've made it consistently with every album or mini. Their growth has been phenomenal to watch throughout the years. I think Jooheon stands out a lot during their debut because of his 7 years of training prior to debuting.

It’s funny, I remember during their survival show, No Mercy, there was one performance where the judges said that the group focused on Jooheon too much (I think they said it seemed like “Jooheon and the Boys”). Then they debut them with a song that feels like Jooheon is center 50% of the time haha. But it makes sense, I honestly think of him as basically being the soul of Monsta X, as much as I love all the members. Also, one good suggestion if you dig the Monsta X rap line (very arguably the best rap line in Kpop) is their live performances of Sambakja, they really get to show their talent and charisma in the unit stage.

These 2 songs just aren't my style. I was into MonstaX because I watched No Mercy and got majorly attached to Kihyun, but I didn't get into their music until I heard "Hero." And even now their title tracks are hit or miss for me. I like a lot of their b-sides though. Have you seen their performance of Versace on the Floor? I feel like that's one of their most iconic ones.
