Monsta X is the blueprint for 4th gen groups. They are one of the pioneers of aggressive,"noisy" style and they actually fought hard to maintain that sound. They have explored other genres and style as well, especially in their Japanese and English releases. I would say Love Killa and Gambler releases were a melding of that evolution of sound. Now with their latest comeback, Rush Hour, they went back to their roots. Basically showing everyone else how its truly done. Monsta X also has the most diverse, high quality b-side discography. Truly they are one of the best that Kpop can offer.

Since u talk about how they have similar vibe to 4th gen, monstax was bashed for producing noise music in 3rd gen era. But they never changed the way they produce music no matter what ppl said and somehow 4th gen who did the similar music were praised for the noise music. MX noise music paved the way for 4th gen gps but the way MX do it will always be different from the rest.

6:45 YEP THAT'S THE MONSTA X SOUND AND STYLE. High energy with r&b suaveness! You'll see their b-sides are often edm/rap and then they'll have INCREDIBLE r&b tracks too. People who don't check out their albums are surprised to hear that 8:09 no one really (maybe B.A.P/Block B/2PM) 😅 actually monsta x is really unique with their sound and concept. The industry loved it so much that the (big) companies applied it to their new 4th gen groups. So rather than MX sounding like 4th gen, it's more like 4th gen somewhat sounding like MX. Like their wikipedia page says: *Since debut, Monsta X has been known for their aggressive style, combining elements of hip hop, EDM and pop. This aggressive style with "tracks centred around loud, clattering, electronic instrumentals, vicious rap verses and striking vocals" has been influential across the fourth generation of K-pop* 13:21 they did a suit concept for us monbebes because we told them so many times that we're obsessed with them in suits cuz they look so good 😅😂 16:18 oh my god you have no idea 😭 they're actually the SOFTEST IDOLS I STAN AND THAT SAYS A LOT They have the strongest duality to me, which is insane

I like that they are very clearly naturally soft guys, but they are also not forced to shy away from the fact that they are adult dudes. It makes the duality of them even more convincing because it's all naturally a part of them

Everyone who has said, they recorded after Monsta X releasing "Hero" on the roof. Hero is much older (01/10/15) than their mv and even the debuts hahaha Monsta X is cataloged almost like a unique and own style that has been influenced in companies to launch the fourth generation.

I'm SO glad you enjoyed Hero, it's such a product of its time but it still ABSOLUTELY bops Regarding the duality and convincing sexiness. Maybe it's that they're older, maybe it's that their FANS are mostly older? IDK, but Monsta X straddles that duality line really smoothly too. They're really silly and cute at times, but even in offstage moments you still get the sense that they are guys with experience and charisma. They don't shy away from sex and subtext in the way 4th gen kind of have to, bc of the age. They can just be dudes, and have tattoos and make raunchy jokes sometimes. As a 30yo, that's what i appreciate about them. They aren't treated with kid gloves and they don't really treat the fans that way either

I'm so happy you are finally getting into them properly and seeing them for what they are! Really enjoyed this reaction! Monsta X are really known for their diverse sound and style, whilst always maintaining that Monsta X flavour throughout. They actually have one of the biggest influences over the current 4th gen look and sound. Monsta X are one of a kind, I don't know any group like them. They are also insanely hard working and humble too. I personally feel like they have the strongest rap duo in Kpop, and all their vocalists are incredible, especially Kihyun our main vocalist, he's even nicknamed the God of Kpop 😂 Monsta X's discography is insanely good. Their b-sides are sometimes even better than their title tracks, with most title tracks made for concert/performance purposes, because they are VERY charismatic, strong live performers, often winning non fan voted performance awards, industry professionals LOVE them! One of my favourite things about Monsta X is the hidden vocals/harmonies/ad libs in their songs, they are SO good at it! I really can't wait to see more reactions on your channel. A few days ago they released their 10th mini album NO LIMIT, with the title track RUSH HOUR, it's pretty awesome ! Shownu has recently gone into military service, so it's just 5 members on the track, but they really did such an amazing job with the new dynamic! RUSH HOUR harkens back to their earlier style, but with their current more mature feel. A few people have tried to make comparison to 4th gen comebacks, but I just want you to know that this is THEIR style that they pioneered and was heavily borrowed from, not the other way around

Thank you so much for your reaction! Glad you're liking Monsta X so far. They debuted at an "older" age than most kpop idols so I think they were able to determine the kind of music they wanted to make and the image they will have. Back in 2015, the music monsta x made were already considered strong and hard concepts. You can check out "Trespass" their debut track if you want to understand where they started to where they are now "Love Killa / Gambler". I wanted to point out when you said they weren't like 4th gen in your face hard hitting music.... they HAVE songs that could be categorized like that but they're so versatile that their "loud" / "strong" / "hard" concepts evolved through the years. I do think you need to listen more to their music to understand just the diversity of their whole discography, if you are interested anyway. Please do react to "Rush Hour" their most recent comeback. It is a lot "harder" / livelier than Gambler but it still falls in the Monsta X genre. Thank you !

Not only you paid attention to every single thing, vocals, rap, style, production etc. but you actually recognized how unique they are and how their style is unmatched in the industry. Yeah Jooheon and IM are the best rap duo period! And I’m 100% in love with Hongjoon & Mingi as well as the whole Rap line in Stray kids! But these guys just have no compare. Jooheon is just in a league all his own. I’m so excited for you to get more into these guys! Their dance practices are awesome too! They don’t hit like gen 4 groups but they are unapologetically top tier in their gen with their own uniqueness that I just adore. Their b-sides and softer songs just hit too! Their English albums are some of their best work as well. They just don’t miss. I hope you’ll add some of their other stuff like shows, albums listens etc on your Patreon! Monsta X debuted in 2015 and they have their own style! Many 4th Gen idols actually look up to them :D You should check out some of their english tracks or covers (f.e. the legendary Versace on the floor) to better see their versatility and amazing vocals! Everyone in MX can sing. And the rappers both have solo albums/mixtapes which I personally love

Loved your reaction!! MX are our multi talented Kings! They are such an amazing, versatile group! They are mostly known for darker, hard hitting concepts and were criticized about their "noisy" tracks - check out Trespass (their debut song) for example...but some of their B-sides are hearbreakingly beautiful!! If I could recommend some MVs for your next reaction - Rush Hour (their latest comeback) Shootout Alligator All the members of Monsta X (even the rappers) can sing! Their rapline is fire - definitely check out the concert performance of Sambakja by Jooheon and I.M - it is mind-blowing!! Also, Jooheon used to be an underground rapper before he became an idol so.... They can ALL dance really well - their choreos are technically difficult, but synchronised and even though they each have an individual style, they work together really well! You could check out some of their dance practice videos to see what I mean. Also note, they compose and self-produce their music... They have released an all - English album All About Luv in 2019 (their 2nd English album will be coming out in December!!!). The songs are quite different from their usual style, but still so amazing. Some MVs you can watch are - Who do you Love Someone's Someone Middle of the Night You Can't Hold My Heart They have a song - Play it Cool - in collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki. It is a total bop!! They have also released song/dance covers - Mirotic 2Pm Heartbeat Versace on the Floor (this cover proves that all MX members are great vocalists) Believer (Imagine Dragons' cover by Kihyun) Natural (Imagine Dragons' cover by Kihyun) Bad (Christopher's cover by Kihyun) Kihyun has even been complimented by the original singers for his covers!! Hug me (covered by Kihyun) Jooheon (Joohoney) has released awesome mixtapes. Some MVs you can watch are - Psyche Smokey Be My Friend (with I.M) Red Carpet Rhythm Should I Do I.M has a mini album Duality with the title track God Damn. It's mv is a must watch - it showcases his voice and unique style.. Some of their members have sung the OSTs for different Kdramas - Again Spring and O.M.O.M. by Kihyun Have a Good Night by Shownu and Minhyuk I'll Be There by Shownu Wonho, who was also a part of MX, unfortunately had to leave the group. But he is now a solo artist and is discovering 'his' voice. His latest comeback was the album Blue Letter with the title track Blue - another mv you must check out! Other than that, Lose, Ain't About You, Open Mind and Losing You by Wonho are must-watches!! If I could, I would list down the entire MX discography here - because I don't think they have released a single bad song or video!! I absolutely love them and their work!! RUSH HOUR, RUSH HOUR, RUSH HOUR! Gambler is a master piece wrote and produced by Joohoney, the main Rapper and right now you can see another insane and unbelievable song of his production RUSH HOUR.
