It shouldn’t be ignored when convicted murders have learned to master the skill. The short story to solitary confinement is that it fine tunes criminals or even innocent people making them crazy (crazier) and deadly (deadlier) . That’s the governments idea of rehabilitation (well it’s what they want you to believe is them trying to rehabilitate) what it really is...the government making their citizens more criminal then they started out in hopes that when they are released they will come right back and the prisons for profit (private prisons) will seem necessary and will continue to make billions (because they all have stock in them) off of the incarceration of the citizens it’s sworn to protect.

The whole prison system doesn't work efficiently. In the US after coming out of prison people are very likely to commit another crime, because they have no other choice. This system is fucked up at both ends. First of all and most importantly, this is not a correctional experience, this is driving people insane, they won't come out as better people, they'll just become broken, probably permanently in some cases. It absolutely doesn't work as corrective or productive punishment either. And also for the people who pay taxes, they're maintaining them for free, practically, even if the situation is totally inhuman, they're still not doing anything good or productive, just living horribly. At this point, this is just crowd-funded psychological torture.

Who gives a shit if they are rehabilitated or not? They won't be dealing with people ever again. Frankly, they don't deserve to be rehabilitated, they deserve a miserable existence until they die. Crimes where the person will eventually be released should not have this punishment exacted on the convict. Crimes that do warrant such punishment to get a list going, first degree murder, rape, child molestation.

Kit-Kat The Sneaky Rat So you want me to be just like him then? If he did this to my family I would hate him but he too has a family. He says himself "I think some people should be isolated" and I couldn't agree more but we should do it in ways that don't make people become empty shells of who they once were. We are better than this, we are better than them, we should know better.
@kit-katthesneakyrat46906 жыл бұрын
FarKrits I also agree with his "some people deserve the isolation treatment", and with that I believe killing a family of 6 should get you the isolation treatment. He deserves to be where he is if not then worse. That comment you made "Still humans like you and me" I agree with that but once you take another's life you forfeit that privilege. That family he ended they'll never ever get to experience the moon, stars, warmth, getting to be with or talk to loved ones forever. So this guy losing 15 years is justified, "We are better than this, we are better than them, we should know better." he should've known better, he should've been better, and isolating him, sure doesn't make us any better but what would *you* recommend.

The prison system punishes those who have committed a crime. However, the incarcerated time should include compulsory rehabilitative processes. This doesn't mean behavorial tuition but rather work and classrooms that teach and distract the prisoners from destructive thinking and add to their skillset and make their minds better from the lowly depths they may have been in before. Simple examples include carpentry / religious teachings/ languages etc. High risk individuals can be instructed online and distanced from actual tools or equipment.

Don’t we literally have an amendment to protect against this

Constitution doesn’t apply to inmates, that’s the reason incarceration became so popular in jim crow times

@Jacob Stahl none of us know what his crime was (EDIT: murder.) The punishment should be proportional to the crime; if the measure is an eye for an eye, just kill the guy and get it over with, solitary confinement is torture.
@ashtonmitch99695 жыл бұрын
@Jacob Stahl it doesn't matter who he killed he is still a human being what they are doing is no better so what makes it right for the ones in power.. Just because they say so? One crime doesn't justify another and yeah this is a crime of inhumane

@Ooff Loof He needs psychological help, thats for sure. that does not mean he should not get punished... If you make bad decisions you end up in bad places. U wanna put em in a 4 star hotel to show them how beautiful life can be in the hope they change? that is not how it works...

What if your framed
@TB-vb3ov5 жыл бұрын
@@CanWeGetSubsWithNoVids-sv6yf You watch too much tv. The chances nowadays you are framed for something while being actually convcited and ending up in prison for a sizable term is ridiculously low. I'd bet under .01% so not a great excuse to use.

This is highly disturbing. Keeping these prisoners like this alive is a tremendous waste. It's a waste of tax payer's money, a waste of labour, a waste of these people's lives...either give them work to do or even making them do mundane repetitive work would serve the purpose of allowing them to contribute in some way to society This is just a complete waste of resources coughed up by a system of the past. We can't afford luxuries of locking people up for eternity anymore..

Waste of his life doesn't matter. He deserves it. As for tax payer's money, people believe in punishment, and in protecting society from killers. This achieves both those purposes.

@@kakyoin9688 The alternative is having killers walk the streets. So yes, we need to spend the money to keep them locked up.

I spent one night in a small jail cell for something that In did not do when I was 16 years old, (My mother had to wait till my dad was not able to see me come in the house). When my mother picked me up, I was soooo incredibly relieved that she got me out, that i never got in trouble ever because of the fear of that cell. The feeling in that cell was sooo lonely and hopeless, that I can not imagine being in that box for months. it would make me a totally different person.
