There is a thing as known 'mandatory response to a diss within 24 hours or you lose' its called 24 hour deadline challenge but for that both emcees have to agree to that challenge it isn't common at all. Most of the time it is acceptable for a rapper to take a week or two to respond to a diss. Eg: eminem took a week to respond with 'killshot'.
