@@j.dmetalhead7517 This is not about what you like or not. Its about what sounds futuristic. Kraftwerk is awesome, and was futuristic until 1990s. Today it is not futuristic anymore. Time got to it. Nothing is eternal. Once more, the point is not about what you like or not, its about what sounds futuristic to the majority of the ppl. If you ask 100 ppl from 25-50 years, they will tell you this is electronic music from the early era, not something futuristic.

Kids today can't imagine the thrill of learning about early robotics in the '70s and '80s. Kraftwerk nailed the era perfectly. Every time I listen to or see a Kraftwerk performance, I'm reminded of the Museum of Science and Industry when I was a kid. Just fascinating.

I was lucky enough to buy my first Kraftwerk album in 1979. I was 12. I thought the cover looked cool. It shaped my entire musical exploration, and later writing style. All my friends made fun of me (I grew up in Maine, haha) and thought my taste in Kraftwerk was at the very least, eccentric and bizarre. I just thought they were cool and interesting, and above all, I loved the sound of the machines, and the fact that they pioneered in building and modifying them because they were not available. Just synchronizing beats pre-midi or dyn-24 sync! It didn't exist without knowledge. Glad there are generations now who finally get it! YES!

Mine was Computer World after I’d heard The Model on the radio around age 12. Then I got TEE, and then every Kraftwerk record I could get my hands on. Bit of an obsession. My brother laughed at me mercilessly and I didn’t know anyone else in my small town who was into them. Wasn’t till the early 90’s when everyone else caught up 😆 They had a unique ability to distill a certain purity in their sounds. On top of that was an appreciation of space between the notes. That’s the only way I can describe it. It’s some kind of alchemy in getting to the essence of electronic sound very few if any other musicians have mastered in the same way. And then there was this funk in the rhythms and bass that these 4 straight looking white guys tapped into too. Totally unique ❤️👍🏼

@@simonbean8855 Dude is needlessly being aggressive, but he does have a fair point. Have you heard all “modern” music? How can you even make such a claim? What even is “modern” music? You’re basically lumping together everything from Igor Stravinsky to Nikki Minaj when you say that, and it sounds pretty dumb. There’s so much stuff that’s amazing and it doesn’t get played on the radio, isn’t promoted on Spotify, etc. The current music industry is somewhat trash, but the music has quite a few gems when you know where and what to look for. Lot of interesting things are happening: new genres forming, genres blending and evolving, etc. We, as humans, didn’t hit our peak musically with the likes of Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk is great, but c’mon dude, there’s more to life and music than German electronic from the 1970’s. Open your mind.

He wore narrow leather ties and drove a Volvo P1800. The lessons consisted of listening to Kraftwerk albums and messing around with his EDP Wasp synthesizer. I was hooked instantly. Seeing my interest, he brought in more kit... Space Echo, TR-808 etc. Kraftwerk and a love of synths have been with me ever since. Alas, I can't remember his name.

To think this was 1978... So unique and edge cutting back then. Kraftwerk clearly ahead of their time. Sad when Florian Schneider passed in 2020. He's timeless and his legacy in music lives on for all time.

For perspective this was during the disco era, before punk, before rap, this was the unseen wave in the heart of the musical ocean in its pure form. When the Tsunami got closer to land they called it New Wave music.

@@johnkayoss5422 Not with Karl Bartos and Wolfgang Flur. Was Florian Schneider (may he Rest In Peace) still with Kraftwerk when when you saw them? He left Kraftwerk in November of 2008. The best lineup of Kraftwerk was with Ralf Hutter (founding member), Florian Schneider (co-founder), Karl Bartos and Wolfgang Flur. And yes, 1986. That was the year they released their last studio album 'Electric Cafe'. The music critics gave that album poor reviews. Wolfgang Flur was not on the album. He left before or after the release of 'Electric Cafe'.
