Would you recc Elf AS over Human AS?

At S50, or even S45 Erg they're relatively the same in terms of using other skills in between cooldowns so functionally they're the same. Without that, humans are disadvantaged because of the magnum cooldown making it more complicated to weave in between AS abilities. However, the biggest advantage is that Elves can run with the skills loaded. That's not a small advantage, but it also isn't game breaking if you're more careful about loading skills. Elves can't use AS skills while mounted or during Final Shot, so it's not a complete landslide... But yes, Elves have an easier time being AS than humans even if they're not strictly better in any definitive way. It's fair to wonder if it's enough of an advantage to go elf over human, as there's a lot you gain and lose in that trade off aside from how it impacts AS.

What’s needed gear wise to be able to solo techs for the different difficulties? Thanks!

Depends on the tech. Since the recent update some of it may need to be re-evaluated. The best way to get there is to get super familiar with the mechanics. If you know how to clear each challenge and break it down, you could do any of them on normal with Blaanid gear. As far as hard, that's a harder thing to pin down as it really depends on what you're building for and what talents you want to use... Especially Arcana selection.
