Amazing! But how loud is your TX trigger?! 😅
@DDMSteveB
@DDMSteveB Жыл бұрын
Oh man - it is SO LOUD. This whole video was pretty ambitious. The amount of work to drive/film/edit all done solo is tough. There are some aspects that you just don't really know about until you try to do this yourself. I had my GoPro mounted to the bottom of my transmitter so I could easy drive and film rather than just a static camera. The clicking of my throttle trigger really came through. I tried my best to reduce that noise in the editing, but man I am just not as good. I think next thing to add to my camera stuff is a good external microphone for recording. So much of my talking stuff got wrecked by the wind. Either way! Thank you for watching and your feedback, it is helpful!

DDM is in Draper! There are a few good places for a bash. Five Mile Pass is a favorite and close, there is a new track in Salt Lake County that is large scale friendly too out in the western part of the valley.

Great spot my friend.Just got myself a Vesla,been dying to run it for Two months but the the English weather is appalling.A question if I may.What batteries fit into the Veslas battery tray.? I got a couple of packs of the classics 9000Mah.They are a little to wide to squeeze in and when they swell will be very tricky to remove.Thanks. Sweet driving in a savage and beautifull location.✌️

A lot of Utah is a dream really - but man this place tops it for best places to run a large scale! It is just such a long drive. I started driving at 6:00 AM to give myself enough time to get all set up and have enough time for driving/etc. A lot of work but SO worth it!

I don't have a VESLA.5, nor do I i have a Baja 5B...but, I did just purchased Kraken's sidewinder SX5 Sand Rail kit, as I've been planning on getting a Baja 5B. Plus, I got the Sidewinder kit (direct from Kraken) for an incredible price during their Pre-Black Friday sale. However, now, instead of getting the Baja 5B, I'm considering the VESLA.5. The only question is whether to get the roller & add my own electronics, or get the RTR.
@DDMSteveB
@DDMSteveB 10 ай бұрын
Tough call. I can say pretty confidently that to make a Baja drive as well as the Vesla it is going to take a lot of money. Between the two I would rather wrench on a vesla. I love both platforms for different reasons but right now it’s hard to hide my bias for the kraken.
@ninthislandrc
@ninthislandrc 10 ай бұрын
@@DDMSteveB What I meant by "the question" is whether to get the VESLA.5 C1E RTR, or VESLA.5 C1E roller. Also, have a gearing question. The new iteration of the RTR is designed for 12S, and comes with a 16T pinion & 650kv motor...but, they also offer it with an 800kv. If I were to get the RTR, as I intend running it on 8S, I'd prefer going with the 800kv motor. Based on the 650kv w/ 16T pinion, and whatever its top speed is on 12S...if I get the 800kv, and run it on 8S, what tooth pinion should I be using to achieve approximately the same top speed add the "650kv/16T on 12S" configuration?

Yes I love the Baja I have a 5B and the 5SC love them, considering I have a Vekta-5 along with the TT5 a LOSI 5ive-T sold my DBXL only eth gas I have ever sold could not gel with it, I have the FID Dragon hammer also but will always make room for a Baja as I cut my teeth on one of the first here in the UK after my MCD Baja1000Chevy and the FG Marder which I raced first along with a rarity a TRAXXAS Monster Gas buggy now a shelf queen, but I know the Baja being two wheel drive improved my driving, but still not sure whether to spend my hard earned on the Vesla, has Axis made a adapter for their stand yet as i have three and had MCD's but no adapter ditto the Dragon Hammer so i have to carry two stands one is afit all but nothing well type the other AXIS-rc of course. Good to see you out hooning again.

59mph was completely stock original with the Max5 and leopard setup. 8S; but they were LiHV. Stock pinion stock gearing tires etc.

Time was against me! I had not ever been here before and didn't know just how long it was going to take to drive to and from there; plus I had a commitment I needed to be at that evening. I am definitely going to make another trip here with an entourage and probably make a good camping trip out of it. This place was a dream and I largely stayed in just one area but there is so much to explore.

Very cool. Definitely seems to be the best 2WD kit money can buy. I'm partial to 4WD myself, but this is tempting. Would also love to see the Vekta.5 with a few upgrades (maybe a 'v3') and a couple body style options. Some very cool new Bronco and other style designs on the Ultra 4's over the past couple years that would be awesome to see come to RC. I was close to buying a Vekta.5, but for cool factor this year had to go with one of the Primal RC Grave Diggers ... but one of the Kraken's are next. Super cool machines, and great running review at an even cooler location
