As kid, I remember hearing stories of my cousin learning about a new technique from locals - turned out to be a wacky rigged senko with a bobber. First time trying a pack of watermelon white laminate senkos, ran through a whole pack with 15+ Bass within 2 hours. It really opened the deep rabbit hole for Bass Fishing, and 10+ years later, still is the ol reliable. Any time I need to get a bite (or even get someone on one), I reach for a senko. Definitely will check these tips out to up the game
@DEADKING6245 ай бұрын
#1 - technique is called dead sticking #2 - color is a factor based on sun light penetration and forage base #3 - fish the senko mixed in with other techniques and when you miss a top water bite throw the senko back in there #4 - hooks vary but use what works not what looks good…circle hooks seem to be reel good wacky VMC wacky hook is deadly #5 - we use 20lb braid with 12 lb fluorocarbon on spinning gear and muscle the fish 🐟 in 🎣 Great tips thanx for the vid ❤🎉❤

@@austinhardy1234 I spool my base with mono (you can do braid, but you want rubber backing so it doesn't ever slip) then attach the rest of my spool with 20 lb braid, then I only put like a 2ft leader with fluoro or mono depending on what I'm doing. If you're in muddy water, just use palomar knot and tie straight to the hook/lure. The bass aren't stupid, but if your braid color isnt way standoff-ish, you'll be fine without a leader. Get good with palomar knot (super, super easy) and double uni, and you'll be tying leaders and braid fast as hell in no time.

Senkos came out before you tube, it took a long time to figure out how to use correctly, and it was by accident. I set my rod down to do something, and probably 30 seconds on the bottom before a biggun picked it up. Lesson learned! Also noticed that it pays to change hooks if they won’t bite, a 3 aught ewg might give it the perfect wiggle on the way down, but the next day it’s gotta be something different

What do you mean dude? Senko's are quite literally the staple of bass fishing. Are you even catching bass if you're not throwing a senko? Requires zero patience at all, they will quite literally hit that thing as it drops to the bottom.

I've caught more bass on senko style baits than anything. They will hit on the drop, always super fun, but I've also had a lot of hits slowly dragging the bait along the bottom Texas rigged. In clear water you can see them hanging around and following it until they can't stand it anymore.

Same I never really even bought into it for the longest. Im 40 btw, n when me n my friend were younger, he started using them. Yamamoto specifically seems to be the one of the best. I think it’s how soft they are and the color assortment. Just kinda expensive for what they are. They def catch fish. I noticed as well as this guy, using it weightless is absolutely the best. You get a weedless and fish it anywhere. Just know making it weedless will allow you to lose a fish or two here n there

45 yrs of fishing/ice fishing has taught me that outside of a few general environmental truisms (weather, water temp, etc), fish will eat what they want, when they want, regardless of the color, size, line, time of day, you name it. I can't count how many times I've caught sub-18" rainbows and brownies on a pike line with a 50# mono or black wire leader pulling a #5 Blue Fox spinner, regardless of color, or the black crappie I caught last year on a Texas rig pulled by straight 50# braid, or the success of using a Ned rig when ice fishing. The biggest mistake is spending all that money on the big-name brands like Gary Yamamoto and Googan. I have done a lot of comparing and the Ozark trails brand from Walmart works far better than either of the two aforementioned brands. Put one on a Texas rig throw it in and when a bass sees it it will hit it you don't really have to do much special with it to catch fish. Oh and you can also catch multiple fish on one worm and like the other two aforementioned brands.
