The synth parts on this record resemble the Klaus Schultz and Tangerine Dream sounds, but I've noticed that they are remarkably similar to an obscure English new age synth player Mike Brooks, who recorded and performed in the 80's, particularly to his albums "Passage of Time" and "Realms of Darkness". I wonder if Colin actually might have been inspired by Mr. Brooks

@levandrone
@levandrone Жыл бұрын
@@germansalas6159 yeah there definitely are some wailings in the first section of the second track and even in the first track, but as lyrics they are totally indistinguishable. imho in terms of the way they utilize their voices the last three albums (Demonic Wealth, Crystalline Exhaustion and Psychagogue) have the best vocals in their discography, but here the music is so powerful and atmospheric that it seems that there is just not much space for the vocals to fit in

I have always had a preference for "orchestral" music. I believe it has a voice louder than human speech. While every Krallice album is a journey in its own right, here they've gone above and beyond in terms of difficulty. Particularly bold, not easy to assimilate, requiring more than multiple listens. Dominant, seductive, vintage, strange and even nightmarish keys, which at times give you the image of a planetary fall into the void. This shimmering magic, always evolving and remaining intimately distinct, is achieved by few.👍🏻🤘🏻⚡🔥💯
@urmumsbaps
@urmumsbaps Жыл бұрын
You mean instrumental. Orchestral means played by an orchestra.
@Raymond_Legrasse
@Raymond_Legrasse Жыл бұрын
🙂Good point, which is why I put the silences in the word. However, if someone wants a "straining at a gnat" analysis, it's not an entirely instrumental album, near the end of chapter 2, there are momentary whispered spoken vocals in the background. Matter of fact I prefere chamber music to orchestras. You should really try, if you don't already know, the French band Corpo-Mente (side project of Igorrr), especially their live studio sessions on YT, are impecable. Take care.👍🏻

After 15 times listening to it, I can clearly say, it is their best release in a long time. These guys are pretty much doomed. Even if they add a choir of pissed off singing crows, with theremin and French horns following in the background, they're not going to create something non-unique, and much more interesting, than the majority of other bands, at this genre.

Listening to this right now. Didn't care for the first track, second one is rucking fetarded!! Keys aren't working for me in the mix because they are overshadowing everything else, especially the drums. And as soon as I typed that, the drums seemed to come up in the mix, but the keys still aren't meshing for me. That being said, I still accept the offer to join the band.
@charliepotter100
@charliepotter100 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree. I don't understand Colin's taste in keyboard sounds - they sound like factory presets. Too high in the mix, too much high end, no texture, too much high end on the reverb - I don't understand it. As far as I remember the keys on Demonic Wealth sounded okay, and it sounded like that was just because there was a lot of room ambience on them. Would be so easy to fix, but still I'd much prefer it if he started from some pure waves and messed around with FM synthesis. Triangle wave with a bit of attack and some room ambience would sound much better imao.
