Kramnik is UNHAPPY after Nodirbek did this! | Armageddon Series 2023

In a video of the Armageddon Series game between Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Vladimir Kramnik, the third game was supposed to be a draw as it was an equal match. However, Kramnik was running low on time while Abdusattorov was not ready to settle for a draw. As a result, Nodirbek flagged Kramnik, causing him to lose on time. Although Kramnik was not happy with the outcome, this victory made Nodirbek the final contender who eventually faced Gukesh. This incident shows how competitive young players like Nodirbek can be.

For those saying Nodirbek should have agreed to a draw Well keep crying, rules are rules, and no one is going to give up a chance to play in the final for some so called "sportsmanship". Kramnik is slow and he payed the price for it.

What I don't understand is how Kramnik can drop his King and hit the clock at the same time. If your piece falls down, that should be a time deduction or forfeit--It's just not fair to the opponent (here Nodirbek continued playing obviously).

The official FIDE pieces are horrible for blitz games, they keep falling, they should use the Reyjavyk II model, those are great for blitz games.

This is an issue with the format. If the position is a draw then there can't be a victory. It is a simple abuse of mechanics and that is why Kramnik is so disgusted by this. This is the nature of all esports unfortunately and why I refuse to waste my time being competitive at them. It is an example of poor sportsmanship.

It is poor sportsmanship, but good sportsmanship doesn't pay the bills. Everyone including naka, Magnus etc would all do this, and they do do it everyday on their streams and in real life money tourneys if there's no increment. Every pro would play to flag the opponent. That's why you get rid of this nonsense with +15 or +30 second increment. Don't blame the player blame the rules that force them to play this way. I'm sure kramnik would also try to flag his opponent if the situation was reversed.

@@ex0duzz Get rid of the formats with increments?! The increments are a realistic approach. No one comes up with a solution on the spot. They need to get rid of the concept of no increments. That format has a clear flaw that is being exploited. Making unrealistic decisions to flag your opponent is nonsense. It encourages poor behavior. Being despicable seems to be the expected response these days.

Kramnik is a politic guy with aspirations to be FIDE president and participated in this event to bring more weight to asia and oceania transfer of events, following Russia politics. Nepo winning could be dangerous for the chess world. Chess will only be free without russian hands on FIDE.

because its armagedon the white needs to win and black may win or draw to win the match and i believe there is some time advantage given to white but i may be wrong on that one.
