God of War Ragnarök is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the series. It will be the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Serving as the finale to the Norse era of the series, the game will cover Ragnarök, the eschatological event which is central to Norse mythology and was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Æsir god Baldur.
Originally slated for a 2021 release, the game was delayed in part due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on development, and Kratos actor Christopher Judge's health problems in August 2019. Prior to its delay, it won awards for Most Wanted Game and Most Anticipated Game from the 2020 Golden Joystick Awards and PlayStation.Blog awards, respectively, and many gaming journalists and websites had regarded the sequel as one of their most anticipated games. Ragnarök garnered universal acclaim from critics.
God of War Ragnarök is a third-person action-adventure video game. It features an over-the-shoulder free camera, while cinematographically, the game is presented in a continuous shot, with no camera cuts or loading screens. The gameplay is similar to the previous installment, God of War (2018), and like that game, it is single-player-only. Throughout the game, players battle Norse mythological foes, with more enemy types than in the previous game, and the developers also added more mini-bosses to give the game more variety.

Honestly, a double whammy of fear. You're scared because it is like you're a kid being caught after sneaking out by your dad and *also* because that dad is Kratos. I do not envy Atreus.

Don't know if this was intentional but I liked how Kratos looked like he was holding back tears. He's big and mean, sure. But he's still a father and he was probably terrified that something horrible happened to Atreus and is just glad he's okay.

When I was a kid, I used to go to the internet café a lot, to play dota and cs with my friends, I used to take money from my dad's wallet, it was just a few cents, since the hour cost was like 10 cents, he would let me do this as long as I did my chores, my homework or whatever, one day, that week I failed a math test or somethin, I don't really remember, but I failed something at school, my mom told my dad, I washed the dishes and cleaned the whole kitchen with my mom, took some money from my dad's wallet as always, was on my way to the door, and as I was about to open it, I see the door handle move, and the door opens, and my dad is standing there, all serious, i got so scared, lmao, then he calmly says, give me my money and go to your room. This scene reminded me of that. Fathers be like that sometimes
