Lovely vid. Love the sauerkraut pierogi! You're so right..Never drain the kraut! I do believe that glass is for your "Piwo". Pierogi & Piwo...YUM!

Thanks Joe. Our first go at making Pierogi at home and your video was helpful. Couldn't find farmers cheese anywhere but you mentioned whole foods and they had some. My wife's family would make farmers cheese with raisins so this is what we did. Also made the kraut and my wife who doesn't like the kraut ones in restaurants said this filling was wonderful.

How did you reconstitute the shrooms?

There were instructions on the package on how to reconstitute it but generally it was soaking them in warm water and then boiling them for less than 5 minutes.

Kraut juice in the glass? Some people drink it, it's like medicine. I don't know what it's medicine FOR! That's a lot of mushroom liquid, I try to keep that and cook with it, I think it doesn't take much water to do that reconstituting job, the dried mushrooms might not need to even be covered if they are in a jar or something that's sealed, you can shake them if you want.

Irony, add water to dried mushrooms just put in a pan and cook to remove the water.
