A brief overview of what we learn in Krav Maga, especially the first three levels.
Depending on your gym, the belt color system can vary; but at my gym, the color system goes - white, yellow, orange, green, brown, black. Gyms may require a minimum number of class hours and a belt test to progress in the system.
Level One or White Belt - is about the basics, like plucking an attacker's hands off your throat as they try to choke you, palm strikes, kicking, hammer fists, etc.
Level Two or Yellow Belt - you start sparring with your peers.
Level Three - you start working with weapon props and you learn how to disarm your attackers.
I also discuss some of the differences between Krav Maga and Jiujitsu... Krav is primarily on your feet and can address multiple attackers, while jiujitsu is on the floor and by itself, isn't practical for street fighting because it does not address multiple attackers or striking.
