I love the scent of this product. The earthy scent reminds me of forests, especially wetland forests. I love being in the woods, so this product just takes me to my happy place.

I've been using it for three weeks now. I can already see it improving my skin texture. Its made the skin overall smoother and also my acne is calming down faster. Usually I break out a bit after using an AHA but this time nothing happened !

For anyone with a really damaged moisture barrier I reallllllly recommend the vanicream products. They are specifically designed for people with insanely sensitive skin and take a lot of care not to put in ANY potentially irritating ingredients. They will really help with getting back to a place where you can try other things.

I had a terribly damaged skin barrier, like bad from treatments trying to treat acne. This product made all the difference in healing my skin without breakouts. I will buy this forever!!

I love both the Stratia LG and this Krave Beauty serum but I wouldn't recommend either for a severely damaged skin barrier. Dr Dray and Dr Sam Bunting have both dismissed the idea of the ideal ratio of fatty acids, cholesterol and ceramides. It's true they are part of the building blocks that make up our skin's lipid barrier, but there is no clear evidence that putting them on topically in the "correct" ratio will necessarily be more beneficial as compared to not using them in the right ratio. In fact, in one of Dr Sam's videos where she talked about her approach to treating a patient with a damaged skin's barrier, nowhere at all did she mention about this golden ratio. Her approach instead is to eliminate all active ingredients and possible sensitizers (including niacinamide and natural/plant-derived oils) and even sunscreens - for the first week of treatment. I have personally experienced a stinging sensation when I applied both of these products to my skin when it felt a bit raw (not entirely damaged) after I kinda went a bit overboard with my exfoliation.

Excited to try this product since my skin has been feeling a bit dehydrated and my barrier needs a bit of a boost. Your videos are always so helpful and well-thought out! Honestly, you should have a lot more subscribers for the quality content you come up with :) Can you make a video about how to get rid of congested pores/ white bumps? I'm not sure if chemical exfoliation will help with that. Thanks!

Thank you so much! We'll grow this channel together! Congested pores or clogged pores are usually helped by BHA exfoliation. My favorite is azelaic acid!

I read your blog on this product and found it really helpful. I have been using Krave GBR for a couple of days and have found it to be quite irritating as my skin has become itchy. Not a good sign. I was excited to try this product to see if it would repair my damaged skin barrier but it seems to have an adverse effect. I also own the Stratia Liquid Gold, which I purchased on recommendation from you on one of your barrier repair videos and it has really helped with my dehydrated skin. I think I'll just stick to that. I may try the GBR again once my skin barrier has repaired but in its current state, I just find this product too irritating. Keep up the good work!

Oh I'm so glad you're enjoying my blog! 💕GBR does sometimes feel a little... stimulating on skin, potentially that tamanu oil. Really glad to know that LG is working for you, hopefully GBR will serve your skin at a later time!

Thanks so much for your barrier repair videos! I really appreciate the information in this video. I agree with you about the concerns about the lack of a full range of ceramides, and tamanu oil being not for everyone. I think this is an interesting product for sure.

I’m glad you had a good experience with the product! It made me breakout and get random bumps all over my face and still dealing with the healing of that but I’m trying to test it out again in a few weeks before giving up on it!

Oh-no! This is the reason I'm a touch hesitant about it because there is the potential for people to have bad reaction/irritation to the tamanu oil. Will be curious to know how your second try goes! Good luck!

Im on Accutane so my skin is irritated all the time I was debating whether or not to buy this one or the liquid gold but after watching your skin barrier video and this one I decided to buy liquid gold hope it helps my skin which I guess is only going to get more irritated and dry as I continue on with my treatment
@KellyDriscoll
@KellyDriscoll 5 жыл бұрын
I'm really happy this helped you! I think adding liquid gold will definitely help buffer your skin during your journey with Accutane, and it's such a good thing you are taking care of your barrier because Accutane is definitely hard on the skin, but hopefully worth it in the end! Good luck!

I have a 100% tamanu oil and it smells extremely nutty and earthy. Healed a wound in my hand very quickly though, so I don't care about the smell anymore. People who got acne from using this oil was probably using too much %, like when using vitamin c.

Hi I do not have a damaged skin barrier but yes I do have textured skin around my cheeks. I have using purito unscented serum and liked it but would like to know if krave is good for smoothening out skin texture ? Or do purito centella and krave serves the same purpose? Can you please suggest since you have tried and tested both ?
@andretan2446

I am wondering is the reason why tamanu oil aggravate acne-prone skin due to slightly higher oleic acid than linoleic acid content? Because in my understanding, the higher oleic acid content in facial oil is not suitable for acne-prone skin since it feels heavier and potentially comedogenic. That's the reason why the formulator for Great Barrier Relief added safflower oil and rosehip oil because they contain higher linoleic acid to balance out the high oleic acid content in tamanu oil, which makes the product not heavy and acne-prone skin friendly.
@sara_387
@sara_387 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s because Tamanu oil is higher in oleic acid and in it’s pure form it’s thick and occlusive, and as Kelly said it can be irritating. But by mixing it in with other acne safe ingredients they hope to harness the healing properties of Tamanu without being pore clogging.

Thanks so much for responding. That’s a pretty strong retinol, do you think using a vitamin c and AHA/BHA regularly is enough?
@KellyDriscoll
@KellyDriscoll 5 жыл бұрын
@@tamarablyth7921 I honestly don't think that retinol products are necessary or required, it's just one (strong) way to achieve your goals. This is actually the reasoning of why I stopped because the goals I was trying to achieve (clear pores, collagen synthesis and overall brightening) could be easily achieved on my skin with gentler ingredients like niacinamide. So to answer your question, yes I think you could easily achieve your goals with gentler exfoliation or active products, I don't think that retinol is right for everyone!

If you're breaking out it's probably not the right product for you! You might want to look for an alternative barrier repair product. (if you know for a fact that the product caused your breakouts, remember that a weak or damaged barrier is just prone to breakouts, but if it was due to the product I can't recommend continuing with it.)

Just in time 😊 i need someone opinion about this product i am trying it now almost a week. Does it hydrate your skin? As i have oily combo dehydrated it makes my skin more oily on tzone i use it as moisturiser. First i thought i applied too many other skincare under it and then tried to reduce to toner then GBR still my tzone is super oily but ther area are fine.
@KellyDriscoll
@KellyDriscoll 5 жыл бұрын
It's not really hydrating as it is moisturizing (hydration = water, moisture = oil) is very emollient with the use of the rosehip and safflower oil, could be a little too rich for your t-zone!

What's up with using the word Holy to represent something as minuscule as a skincare product? God the almighty is Holy. Also the trinity is what makes him up as a whole. He is the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit in one but three separate persons. He is alive while being the first and the last. He is the Alpha and the Omega. Not man made like the product you are reviewing. Just saying because you wouldn't dare say the Allah of all products or My Muhammad of skincare. And this is no shade to your channel as a whole.
