As a stand alone movie with no Spiderman connection its good! To me a movie needs likeable hero, decent acting, creative kills, strong villans, soild plot &multiple fight sequences. Kraven checked all those boxes. My wife is quick to call out a garbage movie and give me that 'You Picked This One' look! She even liked it! Worthwhile watch!

The reason why they come out with these movies is for movie sales, but also so they will still hold the rights to the characters. If Sony didn’t use the characters in movies, they would lose the right to them.

I'm not sure why so many people have canned this movie. I REALLY liked it. It was gritty and more Brutal than any of the other Sony/MCU collab movies. Maybe since Blade... I think I was able to like the movie more because I'm not uber into the comic book origin, so I was ok with the liberties that were taken with the writing and directing. Instead of a straight villain, I got more of a noble (reasoning) vigilante vibe. I wanna see it again, and will definitely look for the 4K blu-ray when it becomes available. I also liked Kraven more than the Venom movies. But I'd rank the Sony side stuff like this: Kraven Venom Morbius Madame Web

Kravens abilities are 🔥 the action parts were legit. The storyline lacked alot, the villains were kinda fire to. The foreigner an the way they showed how rhino has the backback an turns into the rhino was 🔥. The plot an back story couldv been more in depth

Kraven was the main villain in the latest Spider-Man game on PS5. I didn’t really know much about him but they did a good job portraying him and building him up as that dude. So it’s not about the character it about the development and writing and they dropped the ball once again with this movie.

Kraven had potential & Sony dropped tha bawl again. I knew very lil about Kraven. I'd jus c him on tha Spiderman cartoon wantn shmoke wit Spidey. I use 2 think "y don't Spidey jus beat him up real bad?!" & now I c y....bcuz he can't. Kraven got powers & skillz 2!! I didn't know this & they could've dunn more wit that. It still wuz ok 2 how it went down. 2 & uh half saxophones is fair.

Kraven wasn’t bad, it was just a bunch of random things happening all at once that really didn’t have anything to do with each other until a sloppy tie in at the end…..the problem with these Sony movies is that it always revolves around Spider-Man and them having to produce movies every so often or they’ll lose the rights to them completely, so that’s why you’re getting his D list villians with no origin story, they’re loophole movies lol, you have to really be a fan of Spider-Man to know these characters or at the very least watch the 90’s Spider-Man cartoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got a hobgoblin or scorpion movie at this point😂

I saw the film and I agree with several of your points. It is watchable and entertaining in its best moments but needed more story and more personality. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is good as Kraven but rather nonchalant for a violent anti-hero. The Rhino had more personality than Kraven.

The deal with Marvel is as long as Sony makes movies every couple years they keep those Spider-Man IPs also any Spider-Man movie made, Sony gets the money and Marvel gets the toy money made for the movies. So Sony made a lot of money from them Spider-Man movies unfortunately for Marvel, but they didn’t predict it would be successful back when they sold some of their hero IPs.
