"BIKEPACKING the Lost World" - Finishing the Carretera Austral of Chile and.. a PUDU!!! (TJN Ep. 11)

The Carretera Austral runs for 1,240 kilometers (770 mi) passing through rural Patagonia. This episode covers the Northern half of the route (the first half was in the last episode). The scenery gets even greener and I encounter Volcanoes, Mudslides, and even a Pudu (The worlds smallest deer). Because of the incredible scenery the Carretera Austral is widely regarded as one of the the world's best roadtrips. It is also on the short list of places to ride for nearly every avid cyclist. At the end of my time on the route I would opt to cycle to the village of Cochamo rather then take a ferry and ride a short paved section to Puerto Mont. The next episode in the series will find us on our way to Cochamo for some hiking in what has been called the Yosemite Valley of South America.
