STAIRFAX TEMPARATURES
I can't be the only one who liked this game?.. right? This game gets marked as the black sheep of the Star Fox series, and I can see why. It takes a very different approach compared to it's predecessors, and a lot of people didn't like it. I get it. However, I feel like (even with my nostalgia glasses off) this game is a hidden gem on the GameCube. It's a really cool, fun and atmospheric adventure game, and in my opinion, gets a lot of undeserved hate. The music is what brings me back big time. This track in particular is fucking amazing. It didn't come as a shock to me when I found out David Wise did the OST for this game as he is very skilled with atmospheric music.
So I decided to completely redo all of my tones (except drums), and I think it payed off. This track is very atmospheric and it was a scary approach. I'm not too confident with synths; strings and choirs is not my speciality, but it's nice to get some practice! It was fun balancing the heavy and the softer parts of the arrangement, and I think it turned out okay! I also did some mixing research since last time, and gave the compression some slack in this one. Let me know if the overall sound sounds better!
If everything goes to plan there should be a new cover out same time next week! It's not a very complicated cover, but a song I've wanted to do for a little while.
^ Edit: Oh shit, it's Zelda month! Nevermind, it's time to get my finger out of my ass and start doing some Zelda; my favorite game series, as well as it's music. This'll be fun!
Thanks for watching! Feel free to leave feedback :)
