If landlord can’t make money you wouldn’t have a place to rent anymore. Good luck buying in a hot sellers market.
@TruFilmProductions3 жыл бұрын
Pure greed. They want to punish the paying renters to make up for the non-paying renters. That makes perfect sense. If they get crazy with the rent then leave. The property will sit for a while and they loose cash each day. Now that the eviction moratorium is over there should be more places to rent soon.

I understand, we all want to make more money but this pandemic has affected all business that are hurting, too. It's not like business have all that money laying around (well, a few do.). I work for a hospital, with all the Medicaid patients we care for we are hurting financially. State Medicaid pays about 10% of the bill so every hospital loses money on every Medicaid patient. Our hospital, and we need help so much, is now hiring part time nurses so they don't have to pay benefits. We have the work to do, we have sick patients, but the patients aren't paying the bills.

Greed to want to recover 18 mos of no income from people living in YOUR HOUSE for free? While the landlords pay mortgages and taxes? Is t it greedy for renters to expect to live for free, especially since they paid up to whe this whole plandemic started? If you don’t like it buy your own house. While you’re at it, let a few families move in with you and pay for NOTHING and see how you like it. You have so much disdain for the person providing a roof over your head. You must be one of the takers who get ‘benefits’. Who do you think pays for those benefits? Hardworking people which include landlords who probably worked extra hard to be able to buy a rental property. You wouldn’t know anything about that though would you?

This is what happens when you vote Democrat. Landlords don't buy property to subsidized other peoples rent. Taxes, maintenance, property manager fees and utilities keep on going, they don't stop with the rent. When tenants don't pay rent and it's on your record of not paying rent landlords will not rent to you. It's going to be harder to get a place now.

The "loss of rent argument" is disingenuous. Landlords can get federal assistance funds. In most states the tenant still has to repay lost rent. Many tenants received additional money on top of unemployment to pay rent so if these landlords weren't on top of that it's their fault. Also, anyone paying $10,000 to evict a tenant needs to get their head examined. It's a couple pieces of paper and $100 to have a Sheriff change the lock. I'm a landlord so I know. Either this guy hasn't been paying attention or trying to BS for an increase in rent. Either way, the market always determines the going rate. I'll wait to see how the double rent goes - it's not working where I live.
