Thanks for the video. In the repair manuel it says: install a washer on bolts (1), (10) and (22).. Whats up with that? the bolts do already have washers right? And what does the manuel mean with: Seal bolt 18? thanks.. great vid, your a pro!

Do you have to split the engine case to change the oil seal on the primary drive at the sprocket side

$3000 to change the transmission!? That's gotta be including parts. I feel like if you had the parts in hand some bike mech would do it for under $1500

Nice video. am thinking about doing a job on my 06 R1. The problem is i can shift from 1 to 2 but when i try to go to 3 and up it feels like i hit a brick wall. I don't know what the problem might be. On cars i don't have a problem but bikes are still a riddle to me. Help a brother out

Magnus Corps I would start by checking to see if the clutch hub is aligned with the transmission. The clutch hub holder the clutch plates. If the nut the holds the plates comes loose, it could throw the shifting off. If that is OK, it could be that the shift dogs or drum may be damaged. In this case, you will have to split the case in order to inspect/repair them. You will see the condition of your gears at this point. If you split the case, make sure you replace all the o rings, seals and gaskets while you are at it. Good luck brotha...

What other manual do you use cus i already have the Haynes manual. Apart from the o-rings are there any other mandatory replacement parts that i need to get. Thanks again for the immediate response.

Magnus Corps you will need the service manual (Haynes/factory manual) which will show you the order in which the bolts and parts will be removed. Haynes is a really good manual though. Good tools, red and blue loctite, angle torque tool, torque wrenches, valable Shims for valve adjustment, Yamaha liquid gasket, assembly lube, radiator fluid, oil, and all new cover gaskets. Once you have the engine out of the bike, you will be on your way. Also, you will need to buy or make a tool to remove the engine from the frame. I made mine from an extra socket. A partner will make thing easier as well.

Good to go bro. After 10 yrs yrs of of engine n transmission rebuilding i think i van i can handle this. Stay on point cus i i know i will definitely hit u up for instructions n directives. Stay blessed. Am definitely gonna ride this summer lol

I already got it dropped but i haven't split it cus am low on cash and busy with work but I'll start by next week. Quick question....is there anyway to split it without total disassembly. I know the engine side is good . I just wanna get to the transmission without breaking down the top end. Also if u dont mind, is there a means of reaching you so u can talk me thru if possible whenever i hit a snag.
