That changeover in 2021 has been absolutely crucial. Idc what anyone says, MCDC is an amazing coach and after watching Rod Marinelli, Schwartz, and Patricia, I am certain of that. The more they build this team the better they'll be. Brad Holmes is incredible too. Sooooo excited for this season.

@@ScootsMcPoot Explain to me who they lost? The Lions literally resigned St. Brown, Sewell, Goff, and Decker to long term deals. The only key contributors they lost from last season is Josh Reynolds and Jonah Jackson. They replaced Jackson with Kevin Zeitler. They brought in Carlton Davis, Amik Robertson and DJ Reeder in free agency and they drafted Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw to help fix their piss poor secondary from last season. All of the Lions best players outside of Goff, Zeitler and Reeder are only in their 2nd and 3rd seasons and yet here you are talking about another 30 year drought? Gotta love dumb Bears and Packers fans and their delusional opinions 😂

Michigan native.. grew up on Lions.. Greg Landry, Altie Taylor, Paul Numoff, Lem Barney.. Then came Billy Sims. al' Bubba' Baker, Spiderman Jimmy Allen.. then .Barry, Megatron, Lived in SD for 30 years.. .. went back to being a Raider fan. (Started in 75/76). Always talked about" how shitty will the Lions be this year?" and then all of these draft picks, and FA's coming.. giving hope.. More hope.. More hope.. And man. look at them now.. best team in NFL. For an interesting back story of Sheila Ford Hamp, she has always wanted to be involved in football. Im 36 years old from Brooklyn but i still remember the first time I saw barry sanders I was 5 it was 1993 the game was on tv Detroit Lions v. New England Patriots the Lions won in OT and Barry was just amazing he became my favorite player and the Lions became my team being a lions fan has been incredibly difficult to say the least but I'm so happy the way Dan Campbell has this team playing and the future has never been brighter for Lions fans

I wouldn't say set them back. It really slingshot them to where their at. If it wasn't for them fk everything, who knows what Shelia would have done. When they showed Shelia on Thanksgiving during Patricia last season, i knew then she was about to change everything. They made her feel in that moment how fans had felt for years, and it sucked. Her biggest contribution, in my opinion, is admitting she knew nothing and hired Spillman because of it, and the rest fell like dominoes.

Brad’s drafting has been incredible. 2021-2023 has had at least 3 players in every draft that you can point to and say without hesitation that they’re great players, at minimum. Sewell/McNeill/St. Brown, Hutchinson/Williams/Joseph, Gibbs/LaPorta/Branch. To do what Brad has done with such consistency can no longer just be ascribed to dumb luck. This is now an organization that knows what they’re doing.

Yes he was one of the more successful coaches in lions history. But it was clear at the time he was not the guy to get us over the hump, firing Caldwell was the right decision, hiring Patricia was a massive disaster. But I’m glad it led us to Campbell

Granted, there were a few single season coaches with worse winning percentages. I’d also like to mention that MCDC brought a new culture immediately. During the 2021 season the lions were very competitive. They never quit in any of the games. We could see the difference from past teams. I think they only lost 2 double digit games that season.

Another key factor in the lions turnaround was firing their CB coach. That move made them go from the worst defense to beow average which helped Goff win shootouts

I understand why the narrative for NFL fans around the Caldwell firing is that is was questionable, but as a lions fan then, it was a consensus for most. The team regressed through his tenure, and we lost to a bad bengals team down the stretch to miss the playoffs in 2017. I liked Caldwell, but he had to go. The bad move was who we hired next

Had a good laugh at the pronunciation of penei sewell. Penei is pronounced like the pasta (penne) and sewell is pronounced like stool without the T lol
