I've been using this camera since launch and my list is: Anamorphic desqueeze, better waveforms, 60 fps open gate. That's about all I would need that isnt present. In the next XH body, bring back a dedicated focus selector switch and I'll be happy!

If you want a dedicated focus switch, you should choose the X-T4/5. I disliked it first as well, but the focus button means you can save the focus mode in the Custom Setting, which is a lot more useful imo!
@larrydiaz7156Ай бұрын
@@jayzn1931 I understand what you are saying, but you cannot switch AF modes while filming can you? That's what makes the focus switch necessary.
@jayzn1931Ай бұрын
@@larrydiaz7156 Yeah you can’t switch to manual on the H2S, but I am not sure that works on the T5. Also if you want, there is the AF+MF mode for that, it should work in video too, right?

After more than one year of use of the X-H2s, I totally agree and much much appreciate your video. In addition to the wish list, I would highly appreciate from a good firmware update, a robust improvement in IBIS, to the level of the Lumix S5ii.

Nice overview, Andrei. Apart from Touch Tracking, what other features of the GFX 100 II do you wish were present in the X-H2S? BTW, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a firmware update for the X-H2S in early 2024 that includes Touch Tracking. There’s no reason for it not to be added.

I'm not a videographer, so the S version is not on my list; but watched it for Andrei! You've an amazing eye and style! And I quite enjoy the confusion I go through each time you say 'auto focus'...bcz it sounds like 'out of focus.' I know it is just the accent :) The large EVF and thick grip make the XH2 really tempting. If the XH2 had 3 way screen like XT5, I would get that in a heart beat. Looks like it is going to be the black XT5 for me. Great review Andrei 👍

In the UK right now, you can pick up an X-h2s for £1799, with a free £400 grip. If you would buy the grip normally, this makes the x-h2s right now about £100 more expensive than the X-s20. Big difference in build, size etc. But also performance. Maybe not the same target audience, but for so little more over the X-s20 I know where my money would be going if I was in the market for a PASM Fuji.

Thank you for this Video. I am currently planning on upgrading my Fujifilm camera, but I am not sure if this is the right one. I love my X-T3, but since the last FW updates it really struggles with eye/face detection (which i need for my KZbin stuff). I don't know if I should get an x-s20 for video and keep the x-t3 for photography or just switch to the xh-2s for both...

I just want custom button maps for each individual C1-C7 presets. Then I'll be able to truly setup my camera to either be photo or video centric. Oh and also wished pushing the thumb controller in would reset the focus point back to the centre. I feel the fuji team ran out of time on finalising UX settings on its release date.

I agree. Video AF needs to be prooft, IBIS in Video is only good when you not move the camera an why we don't have Touch AF in Video? The rest is great, I love the dial because I can switch from 25fps to 50 or 100 very fast, the viewfinder and screen are very good, the camera feels solid and I prefer the bigger grip. As a customer I just have the feeling the camera should perform better and It's fujis turn to push the camera to It's limits with firmware updates.

I narrowed it down to Fuji x-s20 and Nikon Zf, but would prefer compact set up. I am just a hobbyist, how is Fuji in low light conditions with f1.4 aperture and what Auto ISO you will get in these situations? Is Fuji output looks kind of a flat compared to Nikon which is much punchier? By the way, your pictures look awesome.
@AndreiDimaReviews11 ай бұрын
Fujifilm cameras perform well in low light, especially with an f/1.4 lens. As for auto ISO, its effectiveness depends on the lighting conditions. Editing Fujifilm files can enhance colors and give you great results. Thank you!

Most reviewers seem to be rather less than enthusiastic about the AF without actually saying it’s not that good. I suppose it’s a question of reading between the lines of what they say (or don’t say).
@AndreiDimaReviews9 ай бұрын
It depends a lot on the lens you use, and most reviewers don't have all the lenses available to test the AF. They just released a new firmware that improves AF, didn't have time to test it.

Tracking doesn't work if more than one object/face is in the frame. Overheating is a problem in summer, it hates direct sunlight. Too many old and slow focusing lenses in the XF lineup, a bottleneck for such a camera. Speed is still not in Fujifilms DNA. As there are only very few good lens option for sports and wildlife. So the camera is missing an adapted ecosystem.
