It's not how it works in DB/Z. Give me one single exemple of a character just stopping to fight for years and coming back on screen 10000 times stronger. It just never happens. When they train for the arrival of the Sayans, or for the cyborgs, they are told to be training for this so yeah they power up. When he gets his potential unleashed on Namek, he powers up. But when Gohan stops training and fighting for years, he becomes WEAKER. Gohan is stated in the Buu arc to be weaker than against Cell, which shows how wrong you are. Characters are not supposed to randomly power up, you're supposed to write them. He stops training, he becomes WEAKER. He trains, he becomes stronger. He doesn't magically catch up because "it's how power scaling works", that's just not how GOOD WRITING works. Krillin couldn't beat anyone with an SSJ level for ALL DBZ, despite training with people relative to SSJ+ and actively fighting for his life regularly, and suddenly he catched up during a PEACE period without any kind of justification. It's not even that he felt like he fell too far behind Goku, and decided to put his pride aside and ask Vegeta to train him so that he could surprise Goku or shit, it's just "he catched up". That's just bad writing, nothing else.

People are all forgetting Saitama's motivation and reason he wanted to get stronger at first in the first place. It's very consistently shown and stated that monsterization can be caused by an extreme drive, garou is a good example of this. Or even eating too much of one thing, like crabalante. In Saitama's own words (or something like it, because I forgot the exact line. Mbad), "I want to become a hero, one who can send villains like you flying with a single punch!". He said that to crabalante, and everyone who has survived his punches so far, has had that exact thing happen to them, being sent flying. Most things dying in one punch is just because most of them can't handle the force needed to send them flying being concentrated into the size of a fist. Him being ridiculously strong is just a side effect

Like, if you would go to the gym and have a very strong will and be very determined to be the strongest, your feelings would start to make your training way more effective and you'd become superhuman. A example of this is Darkshine, who wanted to have the shiniest and most muscular body, so it happened. He literally turned black, because that shows muscular definition better. It doesn't seem he uses any tanning lotion. Tanktop master is different, he has a fixation on his tanktop, and in the opm world, fixations and negative emotions make you monsterize, which makes you change your biology. Tanktop Master's tanktop is almost magic, and seems to be bulletproof, tanking attacks that even Tanktop himself wouldn't manage. Basically, strong emotions work as a boost, positive emotions work as a lesser boost but maintains your conscience and humanity, while negative emotions work as a strong boost but monsterize you, making you lose empathy and change your biology to fit your fixations (there's a monster who was a human so attached to the character suit he wore[he worked in a tv show as that character] that he literally fused with the suit after being fired, because he couldn't picture living without being able to be the character anymore. He gained the powers the character had in the show)

@CaptainAmerica232 Well, no. It's often times affected by a whole lot of factors, especially if it's just sheer force of will. The most important one being life or death scenarios. Remember, Saitama was actively fighting monsters and "villains" during his training and getting injured FAR more than a normal person should be able to handle without caring. Garou, while I did say he's a good example for it, yeah, is a master martial artist who has several years of training and experience, with Bang no less, on top of being a genius. But he only started to "break his limiter" during very extreme scenarios where he could die basically in a heartbeat if he fucked up. Saitama's case is the same thing, just far more extreme and he didn't need to go through absolute hell like Garou did. This would also somewhat explain his exponential growth ability aside of just not having a limiter. Since it's likely that his "condition" for rapid growth (one that likely surpasses even Garou's), isn't a "life or death scenario" anymore. Rather, it's instead finding that one being where he can finally have a real fight against (i.e. cosmic garou), where he can experience emotions that had previously disappeared. Edit: Yes, I'm aware that the surge of emotions he had during said fight was due to Genos' death, but it's very likely that the thrill of a fight would cause the same effect. As the thing that caused his explosion in power in the first place was his emotions.

I agree with almost everything in this video (ignoring the latest chapter). But the issue with saitama just being 1 shot by krillin, is that characters in one punch man have shown to be able to resist attacks that are MASSIVELY stronger than they are. Garou, who was in the process of breaking his limiter, was straight up able to adapt to being killed in the rover fight. He was in the process of death, but through will power adapted to it. You may be able to argue that rover was only 100* stronger so garou only needed to get 100* stronger. But later on, when monster garou is large planet level, he is punched by saitama and turned human again. Then while he is STILL HUMAN god tries to overtake his body using the ENERGY OF THE UNIVERSE. Very explicitly aswell this isnt just an exchange of power, garou is losing consciousness while recieving the power, but manages to resist it. This means garou was able to adapt to a 1 shot that was QUADRILLIONS of times stronger than he was. He even says to bang that "i studied the energy flowing through my body to do this" reffering to gain the knowledge of the universe, confirming it was indeed uni levels of energy.

Cosmic Garou is universe level by definition because the whole point is that he made himself one with all power in the universe. Collateral damage is not a sign of power but of weakness and lack of control. The subsequent lower collateral damage only shows the efficiency in which above universal level power was delivered. Also, it's "cosmic" Garou not "universal" Garou. Even if the cosmos was a multiverse, his level would encompass it all. Finally, Garou defeated God. He did not kill God but he managed to secure a victory in teaching Saitama time travel before God could reach. Again, Saitama learned time travel faster than God could react! If that's not a speed/intellectual feat nothing is.

The problem is time travel in the way saitama did it was not a speed feat as that is caused by a technique. The flash time travel is a speed feat because flash is actually running. Second is the saitama had help from garou to use the technique, so it's debatable if saitama could even use it by itself. Garou only becomes one with the universe while using and it's debatable if he even did. As it was described as imagining a universe inside themselves. Another reason is because in the scene saitama was portrayed as not even doing the technique properly, so that will not be a intelligent feat.

Another hard disagree, you're missing the whole aspect of the letter and spirit of the the of show. You're looking only at the letter of the show (literal aspect) without taking into account the spirit of the show. Saitama is meant to be the strongest no matter the circumstances while characters in dragonball are meant to chase that ever growing power. Per example, goku is never the strongest in his show and never will be. Another aspect that overlooked in the letter dimension is that saitama has never taken damage. It was stated atleast 2 times in super that SPECIFICALLY when two GODS fight, they put in risk the universe they are in. Good video. The major thing I disagree with is I don’t think Goku’s base ever surpassed his SSG form. I’m aware of the arguments for it, but there are plenty of counters. So I would say at best Krillin is a level above Buu saga ssj3 characters, which is still insane mind you, but I don’t think he ever reach god level.

I haven’t heard too many legit counters if anything I think the rest of the series supports Goku and Vegeta being top tier in base. Vegeta one shots someone that gave SS Gohan some Trouble. Copy Vegeta slams Gotenks. Goku has a rematch with Beerus and Beerus is arguably having even more fun than they did the first time. There’s a lot of things that support it and I don’t find the counters all too convincing

@@Professor_Fiction Their bases definitely surpassed Buu level, but there are many issues with them being SSG level. First off the Beerus fight itself. If Goku’s base really surpassed his ssj/SSG, he at bare minimum just became 50x stronger there. However instead of asking Dende (who was at the party) to heal him and continue the fight, Goku gave up and accepted defeat. Beerus claimed he was using full power, so Goku should have thought his new full power was above Beerus, or at least he would stand a better chance. The whole fight showed Goku would never give up until the end. The only narrative sense is that Goku used his absolute max power in that fight. If he was healed he would not have been any stronger than what he was against Beerus, even if he went ssj2 or 3. Besides completely breaking the plot and Goku’s character, in the Black arc Beerus said it was obvious Goku would easily handle Zamasu since he fought him before. This means the suppressed Beerus Goku fought is stronger than Zamasu, otherwise Beerus’ statement makes no sense. Goku went ssj2 against Zamasu, so clearly base Goku would be a good deal below. More evidence is that Fat Buu with no training was above Basil, and Basil could fight base Goku with his brothers. This puts base Goku above Buu level as previously shown, but not insanely above. Buu catching up to base Goku with a week of training is more proof the gap isn’t insane. At most, I think ssj Goku was equal to the power of SSG. Him stopping the blast at the end was just Goku using the last bit of his strength to finally make it through and stop it, not him magically getting 50x stronger.

Same Kai also said the shockwaves would have "destroyed" Goku and Beerus along with everyone else which proves that the duo don't even scale to the theoretical full power of shockwaves that only destroyed a few planets on-screen. If any of those shockwaves were universal, the first clash (which Goku didn't yet know how to neutralize btw) should gave annihilated earth the same way Garou and Saitama's clash almost did if Blast hadn't intervened. For OPM universal statements, Genos stated that Saitama's power transcends space and time and Genos' hypotheses were confirmed in the most recent chapters, Blast stated that Cosmic Garou and him have thr power to manipulate the reality of the cosmos, Cosmic Garou having knowledge of all energy in the universe still couldn't comprehend Saitama's power meaning Saitama should scale above all energy in the universe, Empty Void is stated to capable of doing dimensions, God's power is stated to transcend distance, energy and size and he's confirmed to exist in a dimension higher than a dimension that already contains infinite timelines. All of these Saitama should both logically and narratively scale above. I usually like your videos but you didn't cook with this one.

Big problem is that Goku doesn't scale to the combined power of all those countless waves. There were dozens of them, they were growing stronger the farther they went, and Goku would've been killed by the eventual chain reaction of destruction across the universe. If you want to use these events to make a direct comparison between Goku and Saitama, then look at the actual destruction they each caused with one clash. Though even then it's debatable if the waves from Goku and Beerus were literally just physical shockwaves or excess god ki. Another thing to consider is that statements regarding Saitama having limitless or infinite strength are not brags. Saitama himself never even says anything like that. It's a plot point. If King Piccolo was still to this day barely challenged by anyone and still was showing no limit to his strength, then yes Dragon Ball fans would be saying he actually has limitless strength. Saitama's strength having no limit is the foundation of the entire series and what allows the main parody to exist. The joke is not that Saitama one punches everyone no matter what, it's that nothing can truly challenge him. He already met the typical shonen goal of being the strongest, and that applies no matter what he comes up against. Even if it's his own strength. The gag is that all he wants is a good fight, but he'll always be too strong to ever get it. ONE himself said that he can always rely on Saitama no matter what happens.
