The reason Robert Kardashian was part of the Simpson defense with because he helped dispose of evidence and by being a member of the defense the prosecution couldn't have called him to the stand. That was the only reason. He even had to renew his law license because he hadn't done a case in so many years. Why else would OJ have even wanted Kardashian added as his lawyer when he had all these lawyers working for him who were active, yet he wanted to add another lawyer hadn't done a criminal case in years.

Either someone is liable or not. B) The standard of proof in a civil trial is not "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt."
