message from Patricia Crawford: Kris is one true Christian and a great humanitarian.I grew up on some of his music...I saw his sex appeal in a Star Is Born, Convoy and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore...but only in last 20 yrs or so have I grown to really hold both he and Willie close to my heart. These dark days make me more prayerful and thankful . Thank You Dear Lord for Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson.

He is much more talented and wrote more songs than ppl will ever know! With today's online music there is No songwriter credits, not even when you bring up the written lyrics!! Someone needs to change that!! If you don't have the Lp, tape, or cd to read from you will never know. Kris is really a treasure and I have always thought he is extremely handsome!!!

An honest man of his word. Calls himself stubborn at times in his life, and I admire my friend for not backing down on his lyrics. As he has said, I took my time to write my lyrics. Yes, dear heart you have. And they will stand the test of time. Never again will we see the likes of one as uninhibited in verse as you. My Renaissance Man🌹

While there are some points on which I disagree with Kris I can't help but admire and respect the man. He comes at his positions from a position of knowledge. Many parrot what they hear and have zero idea of the whole picture. But leaving politics completely out of it Kris is likely the greatest songwriter this country has ever produced. He is a poet. His lyrics are unmatched by anyone I've ever heard. Sure, there are great songs out there. But with Kris it's HUNDREDS of great songs. Not five or seven, but hundreds. An American poet he is. Give a listen to the way he weaves words and be amazed.

The Jewish Bible is the source of the Vile (Numbers chapter 31:13-18) Jesus endorsed Moses, who was a murdering, rapine Jew! Matthew 5:18-19 and John 5:45-47 Kris & Johnny were ignorant of the teachings of the JEWISH Bible, which is the anthem of ISIS!

Younger folks don't know how Kris just wrote about what was going on around him and in his personal experiences. Shipwrecked in the 80s and Feeling Mortal are a reflection.of many of us going through the stages in life. He made some angry about his opposition to our involvement in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Those wars created the gangs we have today. He married a very good lady in 1982. They have been together over 40 years. He has many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Packed a lot of living into his years, leaving many songs others have sung. Kris never complained of others who sang his songs and copyright striking like musicians would today. The Highway men was a great idea Kris came up with. He and John Cash, Waylon, Willie made good music. Great live concerts. Called Cash John as Kris did out of respect for his elder and good friend.

I wish all these people had felt the same about the original people who lived here....Fighting for our freedom by killing off another. I'm glad to hear that Kris changed his opinion of the Vietnam "War". My father and mother, who both served in the military during World War II were horrified that young men were being sent to Vietnam to battle communism. A country where we espoused the right to believe the way you want to. Stunning to them that I was a young hawk...but after time I came to understand why they were against that war.

One of the best interviews I've ever seen. I do wish they'd asked that one damn question that kept coming up in reverse: "Kris, do you think if you'd changed your lyrics, pleased everyone, and wrote what they all wanted to hear instead of what you knew and felt, if THAT would have hurt your career?"
@metamorphosis67
@metamorphosis67 9 жыл бұрын
John Purser I like how these TV idiots talk about Kristofferson "hurting his career" as if his net worth of over 80 million dollars is not enough "career" already! An entertainer give people what they want. An artist gives people what they don't know they want. Kris was sometimes the former in his movie career but mostly the latter in his songwriting career and he was HUGELY successful without having to compromise. His classic period songs were recorded countless times and any supposed "mediocre" albums that came later and "stalled his career" made no real dent in his overall level of success.

+metamorphosis67 Here ...Here. I agree Metamorphosis67. His lyrics, never hurt his career. Although Bill Clinton was a Rhode Scholar as well. How much is Bill worth? Maybe that is what "hurting" ones career is.

i wonder how many people under 30 could have a meaningful dialogue about nicaragua , oliver north, the shah of iran.....here is a man that went from lifer west point type to questioning reality in an honest and truthful manner....now he would be labeled simply "fake news", "liberal", pot head.....he is a true american hero as he has obviously gone beyond a high school diploma....to me cash, kristofferson, jennings, nelson are true american outlaws as were washington, jefferson, franklin, .......this man is the spirit and true essence of real americanism.......i met him at a willie nelson 4th of july picnic in texas the summer of 1979.....he is not contrived , he is real.......men like him will save america not men like bonespurs

Only a few years younger than Kris my feelings about our involvement in Vietnam have done a 180 also. BUT!! The letter to Ho? Did those "protestors" have a CLUE? That guy was NOT a sympathetic figure. Ask the (surviving) South Vietnamese. And spitting on returning soldiers? Really? Hanoi Jane was more WRONG than LBJ, hard as that is to fathom. It never was the TROOPS, rather the politicians who lied about a "boat" attack that never happened to elicit the support of the American public. Did SOME of our troops do horrendous things? Yeah, but no more or worse than SOME north Vietnamese soldiers. Where war brings out the best in some it does the reverse for others. It always has and always will be so. Yet another reason to end war. But until people like Ho, Hitler, Stalin no longer exist an impossibility. There have always been &^&&%^^ that will kill anyone with whom they disagree. If you don't want to die sometimes you MUST fight. A sad reality.
